Vintage Motorola 1950′s Radio. Model 56CC,, Its a Table Top Radio. And i think the Radio was made in 1956,, There. These have a built in Clock with a Built in Calander Displaying. The Day and Date and the Clock also has an alarm. This Must have been High Tech in 1956. This Radio had been in Storage and we just wiped it off with. A soapy rag,,, So i think it will clean up a little better. Cracks seem to be the major problem with these old radio’s. The Case on this one is in Really Nice Condition. There is a Crack in the Clock Display Cover but its Not. That Distracting for the age of this radio. I’m old enough to remember when Tube Type Radio’s were. Still in use,,, I had forgot that it takes 2 or 3 mins after they. Are turned on for the tubes to warm up before they work. This one Works Good and Picks up a lot of stations but. Its a Table Top Radio,, Fairly Large ,, Measuring 13 X 6 X 5 1/2 inches. The Back Cover is Clean and looks Really Good. The only thing i see that could look better is the numbers behind. The Dial,,, They are there and are readable but i think the plastic. Is dirty on the rear side causing the numbers to be darker than. They should be,,, So the cover would need removed and cleaned. Also,, the Calander part,,, i don’t know if it works yet,,, I’ve just had. The radio plugged up and playing for 2 or 3 hours,,, so its not been. On long enough to update the Date / Day ,,, If the Calander works i’ll be. Shocked,, So’ll post info on this a little later. ” Update,, The Date / Day Function Does Work “.
This is Model 5C12. Radio works and so does clock. We did not check the alarm though. It is in good used vintage working condition with some age and use wear. I believe these are from 1960 and it has a really great blue color to it. This tabletop radio and clock has a nice grill and knob. Knob needs a finer cleaning and has some wear to it. Plastic face on clock has some scratches and scuffs. There are very small areas that could use a deeper cleaning. Radio knob is also very loose. Edges of radio have some light age wear. I see some marks and scuffs but no cracks or chips. Cord has some dirt wear but no cracks and works as it should. Knob in the back to turn clock dial sits slightly askew but turns fine. It would be great to make this minty and maybe add bluetooth etc. It measures about 13″ x a little over 7″ tall. Please see photos for the best description! It weighs 5lbs and needs very careful packaging. Good luck and always have fun. Feedback is left once you have left me feedback that you have happily received your item.
