Fresh from a local estate that had hundreds of radios, this is a rare, circa 1940 Brewster Model B-10, pre-WWII FM Tuner that is a great candidate for restoration. All of the tubes are new old stock – just installed and tested good. Unit features 8 tubes and it used the Armstrong Frequency Band with a range of 42-50, which was later changed to 88-108 in 1945. Cosmetically, the unit is in excellent condition, with the original finish simply cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. The original cloth power cord is in good condition, with some fraying. Both knobs turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator functions properly as well. The original dial glass is in excellent condition. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to add this rare pre-war FM tuner to your collection. Do not hesitate to make an offer all will be considered.
The model is a 15HF1 and was made in the USA. This is a unit that was originally in an Admiral Console. The radio is used and does have some wear from previous use and old age. I was not able to fully test the radio, but when I plug it in, it seems that all the tubes light up and glow. The radio is very clean including the chrome. There is almost no rust and cosmetically is in excellent condition! Check out the photos for a more detailed view of the items condition, the photos are also a part of the item description. This radio has not been worked on mechanically, I lightly cleaned the exterior and applied a light coat of feed n wax to the wood case. Would make an excellent candidate for a restoration. Here is a very beautiful series 800 World War Two 1946 or 47 shortwave radio receiver with its correct accompanying amplifier in its metal chassis and with its multi pronged interface cable. I have no way to test this and I know that true collectors like to power these gently with a autotransformer initially. I try to give you a lot of good pictures this is full of vacuum tubes and it comes with the two rails which initially allowed the receiver to slide in and out of its wooden console. The screws are replaced and each side and you will get everything seen here. These are difficult to find with the glass faceplate intact and the nice looking clear buttons.
Here’s a very rare find, a 1940′s Pilot T-601 radio with the original box and manual! The cord is still pliable like it’s new! I have not plugged it in and will not attempt to, the new owner can decide on that! Please let me know if you have any questions.
