Uncommon and hard to find Truetone tube radio. The electronics are for the most part original aside from the electrolytics, but they look to have been replaced a long time ago. The clearcoated bakelite case has a wonderfull look to it with only one small repaired crack on the top of the case behind the pushbuttons. The clearcoat finish does have a slight orange peal to it, it’s really not all that bad, i’ve seen much worse. This is a very. Cute little radio that does not show up for sale often. Really nice Silverstone D-727 plays fine motor drive works you can hear it engage but dial doesn’t move dial. The dial moves fine manually, green eye opens and closes as it should. The cabinet has been professionally restored has a veneer repair on top right rear corner and some veneer chips on edges looks to be filled in, but radio is still Beautiful. Here is a seldom seen Truetone table radio , stands 16 inches tall and 16 inches wide… The front piano buttons seem to do nothing. This is a neat showpiece, has a very nice look about it. I obtained about 80 tube radios from an estate sale. I will be listing these over the next few weeks so please see my other listings. This listing is for a TRUETONE model D2783. Ivory with gold highlights. Condition: BOTH ORIGINAL BAKELITE KNOBS ARE STILL THERE. Both knobs rotate as they should. The cord is in good shape with no cuts or shorts. When powered up it makes the usual hum when one of the tubes needs replaced. The grill is in great shape as seen in pictures. The body is in good shape with only a few small scratches and one scuff on the top. The wood back is still there and in good shape. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES, IT IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND WAS TAKEN GOOD CARE OF. These radios are highly collectable and are getting harder to find online. It will be protected well and insured.
