This rare vintage Truetone Model D719 battery operated radio is a beautiful piece of history from the United States. The radio features five tubes and has a wood cabinet with a distinctive footed style. It is a truly unique piece that will impress any collector or music lover. Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of history with this beautiful Truetone radio. The radio appears in nice condition. It is missing a knob and is untested due to being battery operated. Not much information was found about this particular model other than an approximate year of 1938. Upon researching this model, I found three similar ones all dated differently from 1936-42 and two sets of schematics dated 1936 and 1941. Anyways, this would be your unicorn among your collection! Even the Radiohead has the knobs the glass lens has a crack shown in the pictures also comes with the cables and they seem to be in perfect working condition The speaker looks good except the center of the paper. Inside looks pretty good little dusty on the tube side and the electronic side looks very clean and dust free.

Truetone Art Deco Vintage Tube Radio? Model D-2616, Series C Works Well

This iconic set was designed shortly after WW2, and was manufactured in bakelite starting with Series A in late 1946. The set on offer is part of Series C, and was made in 1948. The radio is in great physical condition, as pictured, with no cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs (other than the original white bakelite plug) noted. The paint looks good, with one tiny piece chipped off on the upper right side. Another nice touch is that the radio retains its original printed press board backing. Please review all photos to make a determination of condition for yourself. Not only does this radio look great, but it sounds fantastic, too. As with virtually all tube radios, it takes between 15 – 30 seconds for it to warm up before the sound kicks in. The radio has a nice strong speaker, and picked up all of my local stations across the dial without even attaching an antenna. For superior performance and sensitivity, a small random length of wire can be attached to the small clip in back.
