Not sure if this is the t-204 or t-202 but my research leans toward t-204. Radio powers on, tunes to stations, volume works. The 3 point plastic piece on the tuner is a bit loose, but could be pushed in properly with the right tools. There’s a crack on the underside of the radio along with a missing piece of plastic. This does not interfere with the function or aesthetic. They have been removed and re-listed here on my main account. Nothing has changed on the units themselves. My apologies for any confusion. Beautiful RED vintage Travler radio model 5028A. Measures 8-3/4″ across, 5″ tall, and 5 deep. The case has faux alligator leather type covering. Overall looks very nice. There is one knob missing. The electrical cord is in poor condition and would need replaced if used – it is untested. Otherwise it could use some cleaning. Please see photos for detailed condition. The Bakelite cabinet on this early model 5002 is flawless and looks brand new! Though small in size, its deep brown and black Bakelite has a strong presence with the louvered top and grill. Add to that the colorful dial face and milk chocolate knobs, and it is one very attractive little radio. The external antenna wire is for improved reception if needed for your locale. And of course a. S with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention to detail. The cabinet was completely disassembled and cleaned, then buffed to a wondrously smooth, shiny and lustrous finish. The dial face graphics are crisp, clear and very nicely lighted. The original knobs were polished. The grill cloth was replaced with a beautiful period pattern. There is no back cover. The photos say the rest about how pristine this radio is and how well it displays. Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned and serviced, with all paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced with new ones. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the internal loop antenna. This petite and charming radio is now 77 years old and looking like it did when new. And, now that it is completely restored, it sounds like it too! It will continue to bring reliable enjoyment for many more years if well cared for. It is an wonderful addition to a collection or as a gift for someone to cherish. Dimensions: 9.5×6.5×5.5. Note: Tube radios consist of a variety of vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors and other electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and components tested. All non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuum tubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up inside the vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to be replaced. The tubes in this radio are in good. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off. Cabinet is original shiny ivory plastic. No cracks, no dents anywhere on the cabinet. The grill is a painted pink color. This is a very rare color combo for this radio. It was part of an large radio collection. The radio did power on and the backlit dial light worked. I did not hear any static or sound so my guess is that it needs some minor TLC. It is missing one tube so that may be the problem. I did not check/test the tubes either, nor was it hooked up to an external antenna. The wood cabinet is nice and solid and the original finish looks really nice. There are some minor imperfections like you might expect on a piece from this era. I believe that this is 100% original except, perhaps, the AC power cord. The radio has been in storage for many years so I’m sure that it could use a good/thorough cleaning. I do not have the proper equipment to test this piece any further. Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself.
