Vintage 1950 Trav-Ler model 5061 tube radio is fully restored

This radio is now in excellent working condition. This will be a very nice addition (or start) to your vintage collection. Radio Corporation was founded in 1921 (Chicago) and made table radios, record players and finally, television sets until 1965. Estoration details are below; thanks for looking. All tubes in the 5 tube chassis were tested and all defective or weak tubes have been replaced. All paper and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced. All out-of-tolerance resistors have been replaced. The chassis has been cleaned and re-aligned for optimal performance. All radio controls (on/volume and tuning) and dial pointer operate properly. The very nice cabinet is in excellent shape with no cracks or chips and with very few blemishes. The glass dial has a great appearance. The knobs are original and in good shape. The radio has its original cabinet back and the original tube location label is on the bottom of the cabinet. This is a 110-125 volt AC/DC set.

Not sure if this is the t-204 or t-202 but my research leans toward t-204. Radio powers on, tunes to stations, volume works. The 3 point plastic piece on the tuner is a bit loose, but could be pushed in properly with the right tools. There’s a crack on the underside of the radio along with a missing piece of plastic. This does not interfere with the function or aesthetic. They have been removed and re-listed here on my main account. Nothing has changed on the units themselves. My apologies for any confusion. Here we have a vintage 1948 Trav-ler Tube Radio. This radio sounds great. It is surprisingly loud. Runs on 2 x 1,5 / 67,5 Volt batteries. Batteries are not included. Leather is in very nice condition. Battery compartment is clean as well. Obviously well taken care of over the years! Here is some information we found on this model at radio museum. Vintage Trav-ler T-29827 Portable Battery-Powered Tube Radio – Built in Antenna. It is in vintage well used condition. It will require some tubes & batteries and possibly some type of repairs to get this radio into working order. The exterior if the case has dried out and the leather handle is gone, the covering will also need to be reconditioned or something. All the latches and hinges work as designed. The antenna is built into the lid, everything appears to be here and in place for it to attach correctly. It was part of an large radio collection. The radio did power on and the backlit dial light worked. I did not hear any static or sound so my guess is that it needs some minor TLC. It is missing one tube so that may be the problem. I did not check/test the tubes either, nor was it hooked up to an external antenna. The wood cabinet is nice and solid and the original finish looks really nice. There are some minor imperfections like you might expect on a piece from this era. I believe that this is 100% original except, perhaps, the AC power cord. The radio has been in storage for many years so I’m sure that it could use a good/thorough cleaning. I do not have the proper equipment to test this piece any further. Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself.
