1940′s Vintage Philco Transitone Maroon Table Radio Model 48-225 Works

This just in from radio collectors estate. Tag marks “works” and indeed it does. Tunes and gets stations, loud and clear, back of tag says “repaired”, but no year date. He added a long antenna wire on it, and there is no back cover panel. It has some marks and scuffs, but no cracks. Use zoom, see scuffs and marks. Overall a neat looking working radio, would make a nice movie prop or radio display, could use a back. It might be Plaskon. Local inspection here in Pittsburgh always welcomed. Please see all pictures and use zoom feature. Often the pictures describe the item better than words. I try my very best and list a lot of pictures, but are not posted as a “try it and see if it fits and send back ” type item. Please know if this is the item that works for you before you order. Classy Vintage 1946 Philco Transitone Model 46-200 Table Radio Working

Welcome To JNS Vintage Radios and Tubes. A beautiful table radio. The chassis was removed and sent our technician for a rebuild. The chassis received new modern caps. The resistors where checked, replacing those that were shown to be out of spec. Tubes were tested replacing the 14B6 and the 7A8. All tubes test 85% or better. A new dial light was installed along with a new dial cover and line cord. A spot-on alignment tops off this chassis rebuild. The chassis tunes in local and farther away stations with ease. The case was refinished in Antique White. No cracks or deep scratches. No back cover available as they usually don’t survive the years. Great looking Philco model 57 radio. Bakelite cabinet in beautiful cream finish. Aux cord installed on this set already. All radios for sale by Retro Radio Shop have had a thorough assessment and electronic refurbishing. All out of spec tubes, resistors and capacitors replaced. Each radio will come with a schematic diagram and, if applicable, a work order detailing the restoration work completed. Please feel free to ask any questions. The costs may seem high but we have had great success in getting customers their radios in one piece and working. In addition to the customer service aspect, these old radios are of a finite number and preservation is important. In the unlikely event that the radio arrives broken or not functioning, we will take immediate steps to ensure your satisfaction. Depending on the situation, either us or the insurer will request the item back for further inspection or salvage. If it arrives non functioning, there is likely something that has occurred during transit. All sets are bench tested prior to leaving the shop and are in good working order.
