This vintage Philco Transitone Model 53-566 electric radio is a true collector’s item. With its classic design and tube technology, this piece is a wonderful addition to any collection. The radio has been tested and is in working condition, ready to play your favorite tunes. It turns on, sound is static, and lights up. However, I was unable to play a station on it. No major cosmetic damage but needs to be deep cleaned.

Vintage 1946 Philco Transitone Bakelite Tube Radio 46-200 Working Condition MCM

Vintage Bakelite Philco 1946 Transitone Radio, Model 46-200. Nice mid-century table top radio in good condition overall considering it’s age and use. Radio does work and I was able to get clear reception on one station. Bakelite cabinet is in good condition overall with a small crack on back left corner and some minor scratches and imperfections. One knob is broken and requires removal to adjust tuning. Back cover is missing. Cord should be repaired or replaced. Insulation is brittle and wires are beginning to become exposed near where it connects to the unit. Overall this is a really nice, vintage tabletop radio. Please review photos to assess condition. Radio measures approximately 10 3/8″ x 6 1/2″ x 6.

Both knobs turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator functions properly as well. The power cord is also new and in excellent condition. The bakelite body is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. To keep the body shining and looking great apply Novus Plastic polish on it regularly. The rear cardboard panel is a new replacement. Great looking radio that will be a fine addition to your collection. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered.
