The unit in working condition, and will include fresh batteries. And AC power supply option. Its in good cosmetic condition for its age see pictures nice & clean battery compartment was well kept. Along with some other audio gear. We have 1 of these, and lots of other good computer surplus items. We have a huge inventory of PC Legacy parts of all types, and surplus items from HP, Compaq, Dell, & Gateway in our storage. (also known as trans-oceanic) portable germanium-transistor radio receiver manufactured in the 60s by the Zenith Corporation of USA. The “-1″ refers to the radios ability to receive +12 V through an external AC adapter power supply. The schematic and manual indicate this is a nine-band, ten transistor, heterodyne radio design providing FM, MW, LW, and six SW bands. The chassis versions used by the Royal 3000s are 12KT40Z3, 12KT40Z8, & 12KT43Z8. In this model, Zenith introduced the FM module to receive the FM band. The radios main features were a rotating band selector drum, which turned an illuminated tuning dial together with the switch contacts. It has a snap-up carrying handle, which also housed a telescopic aerial. Powered by SixBit’s eCommerce Solution. ALL ORDERS/MESSAGES WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF STARTING JULY 22. This is a RARE. Nice hard to find small radio, one of the last tube type radios before transistors took over the market, and one of the few tube radios made this small only a little under 6 inches wide! , made to fit in a coat pocket. It is in good shape but has some flaws, the thick white plastic is somewhat yellowed and has a crack along the lower left side and goes just a bit up the front corner and has some small chips on the inside lip of the back cover (chips not visible when radio cover is in place). Also missing one of the little metal clips that holds the handle on. Reverse painted trim on the front of the radio looks good and so does the round tuning dial. Overall a pretty example of this rare radio that seldom turns up. It uses unusual batteries that I do not have (there is a plastic shell to one of the original battery still in the radio to display with it), but I don’t have any batteries for it, so I did not test the radio (battery terminals have some rust but not too bad).
