RCA Victor Tube Radio Tombstone Wooden T8-14 Vintage Antique 19 1/2″ 16″ 12. We have RCA Tube Radio. Powers On, but could not get a station to turn on. It could be user error or maybe the antenna needs to be attached (not sure how). May need some maintenance or repairs to work 100%. Measures: 19 1/2″ Tall x 16″ Wide x 12 Deep. Does show tons of wear – the wooden veneer is peeling off and parts are missing. Lots of scratches/marks from age and use. Has tape inside radio to hold the speaker/radio parts into frame. Vintage 1930s Philco Tube Radio Model 630 Shouldered Tombstone Design. PARTS/REPAIR, UNTESTED, ASSUME NOT WORKING!! Two small Philco labels found inside are pretty roached, dry, brittle, breaking apart. Lower three knobs snug and turn fine, station knob turns smoothly and station disc advances nicely. HTF Model, research shows only about 14,000 were ever made of the 630 model. Radio has tubes and cords, but is untested and presumed not working. Dusty, dirty, especially inside; also missing most all of it’s wood stain finish, all as shown. Feel free to reach out if you need more pictures or have questions. Radio powers up, but I could detect a capacitor odor and shut the unit down immediately, so it will need some work to get it functioning. Chassis is very clean with no evidence of rust or corrosion. All of the knobs turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator works properly as well. The cloth power cord is in poor condition, taped in spots and will need to be replaced. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax and presents quite well, but the top is showing wear, as well as a small veneer chip on the left side (see photos). The grill cloth is in excellent condition. Also included is an original instruction sheet for this model. With a little bit of restoration work, this radio will be a fine addition to your collection. Its unique tombstone upright design is a standout feature of this collectible item. The brand is RCA, known for producing high-quality electronics, and this radio is no exception. The age of this radio gives it a historical significance that many collectors desire. Don’t know if it works or not.. Never plugged in in my possession. Other tubes would need to be checked. Needs to be thoroughly checked out to see if it works. Station dial does not move.. Could just need a cleaning. Possibly could be for parts only.
Vintage 1934 RCA Victor 135-B 7-Tube Radio Tombstone 2-Band ORIGINAL Needs TLC… Speaker cloth is torn, other than that everything seems to be in place. Radio on its own weights a hefty 30Lbs, expect another 3-5lbs for packing. This radio was made in 1934 and was a “farm” radio that ran off batteries where no electricity was present. This radio has 7 tubes: 1C6, 34, 34, 30, 32, 30 AND A 19. Looks like everything is intact and cables/tubes/ tubes shields are present. This would be a great project to restore.
