If you are looking for a restored old-time tube radio that can be played as often as you like and for as long as you like, please read on. This radio set has been restored to it’s original condition and is ready to bring another lifetime’s listening pleasure to it’s proud new owner. You will be satisfied with this radio set because no detail inside OR outside has been overlooked in order to deliver both “dependable performance” and appealing cabinetry. Every effort has been made to offer a practically new radio, performing as it did originally, and to be maintenance free for quite some time. The wood cabinet is in excellent condition without any cracks, delamination of veneers, or patch-job repairs; the dial cover is brand new. The cabinet has been refinished in traditional manner using linseed oil varnish to bring out the texture of the veneers and impart a soft shine. This model measures 12″ X 6″ X 7.5″high with full 5″ Speaker. A thorough clean job. Check out all the photos. The electronics inside the chassis have been totally overhauled. That includes: new dial string and power cord, power supply completely replaced, and replacing all the old wax capacitors. This radio uses 6 tubes. All 6 tubes are “New Old Stock”and the dial light bulb is new as well. And yes, the radio plays like a charm! Following the restoration, all radio circuits were re-tuned to their specification using instrumentation. The end result is an old fashioned tube radio giving excellent reception across the dial, playing with warmth and depth. Please don’t expect to find any transmissions there as Police transmissions have moved to other frequencies since 1941. Thoroughly bench tested, this vintage Motorola radio set is ready for it’s new home. I will double box using new cartons so that your new radio arrives undamaged in transit.

Was a major player in home radios during the 1950s. They had been manufacturing home radios since 1934 when the company reworked its product line in order to survive Great Depression. The cases were well designed and sound quality was well above the norms for the day. They were considered among the most reliable radios made. This example in turquoise is a 1956 model with dual speakers and tone control (not often found on radios of this period). We have restored the electrics with new components where needed to assure reliable performance. We have also replaced the power cord. The radio plays very well with great tuning sensitivity and a lovely resonant sound. Cosmetically the case is in very good shape and has no structural damage; no cracks, chips or bruised areas on the plastic. There are light scratches on the surface but difficult to see and the finish retains its original high gloss. The main indicator of its 67 year old age is the wear to the paint on the tuning numbers and some missing areas of gold decorative paint around the front bezel (see Photo #5). Dimensions: 13 1/2″ wide, just under 7 ” high and slightly over 5 inches deep.

This is a 6tube, wooden table model radio with a self-contained loop antenna. The radio measures 15.5″ wide x 9.5″ high x 8.5 deep. A Bluetooth receiver was wired inside the radio and is activated through a switch on the back of the radio. Electronically, the chassis has been completely cleaned and brand new electrolytic capacitorsinstalled. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio has beentuned for optimal reception and quality of sound. The cabinet was cleanedinternally with mineral spirits, the external finish restored and lightly waxed. The dial face graphics are crisp and clear. The original knobs werepolished. The grill cloth, if necessary, was replaced with a stunningperiod pattern. Thevintage radio consists of various vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors, andother electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and allcomponents tested. Non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuumtubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up insidethe vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to bereplaced. The vacuum tubes installed on this radio have been tested and are ingood working order. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is relatedto the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning theradio power on and off. For instance, a good tube should last 5,000 to 10,000hours. Toprotect your investment in this vintage radio. Vintage radios restored to receive broadcast stations(many Bluetooth enabled). Restoration and Bluetooth installation servicesavailable.
