Some veneer missing at bottom. All tubes test good, radio only receives static. Power switch turns radio on, but will not turn it back off. Great candidate for restoration!

RCA T5-2 Globe Trotter vintage vacuum tube tombstone radio

Here is a terrific and less expensive art deco wood tombstone made circa 1936 by RCA of Montreal, Canada. It is a model #T5-2, their “GLOBE TROTTER”. RCA owned all of the Armstrong patents and the level of technology they employed was the best. This five-tube model is an advanced super-het offering both Broadcast and Shortwave reception. This radio has original finish and electronically tested, it plays well and receives several station having likely been restored at some time in the past. It has had no electronic restoration by me. The speaker cloth is a replacement and knobs appear to be factory originals. These are terrific performers and the selectivity and sound quality challenge larger and more expensive radios. Radio measures approximately 14-1/2″H x 11-1/4″W x 8D. IF you are looking for a bargain, and enjoy the pleasure that is derived from doing your own restoration at your pace, please check out these most affordable radios. You can listen to Spotify, IHeart, Pandora, Sirius XM, and many FM radio stations through this old vintage radio.
