This transceiver is in fair cosmetic condition, but certainly not perfect. The faceplate looks pretty good, but the cabinet has quite a few scuffs/scratches. Also, the main tuning knob has a large chip in it. It’s pretty dusty/dirty inside, and it looks there may be a few modifications (see photos). The radio powers up, but there is a lot of hum coming from the speaker. No further testing has been done. This equipment is part of a very large silent-key estate we recently acquired, all of which has been in a storage unit for approximately 15 years. We have not done any testing beyond what is specifically mentioned above. There are a few reasons for this, but it essentially comes down to the fact that they almost always need some level of service and it’s simply not cost effective to pay our technician to spend time going through them. It may or may not need components replaced (caps, resistors, tubes, etc), controls cleaned/lubricated, alignment, and so on. Unless you are qualified and capable of working on this unit yourself, or are willing to pay a qualified individual to do the work for you, we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you.
