Offered here is a classic Bendix Model 75P6U vacuum tube radio, manufactured by Bendix Aviation Corporation (Baltimore, MD) in the late 1940s. Original three knobs (Volume, Tuning, Tone) all operate properly. Bakelite cabinet is in excellent cosmetic condition with no cracks or chips. Beautiful two-tone dial with clear numbers and Bendix logo. Original back label and internal tube diagram are intact. This model features a superheterodyne circuit and was marketed as a modern, high-performance home radio in its day. Perfect for vintage collectors, audio enthusiasts, or retro decor lovers. Unit does have power and sound. I’m sure it will need some adjustments and alignments but still a great radio. Everything you see in the pictures is what is included in this lot. Photos are the best description. Please look at all pictures closely before purchasing. We will document any damage the best we can but the photos will always be the best way to exam the item. Items may need a more in depth cleaning. We will do our best to clean every item, although sometimes we can’t do a full thorough clean. Message us for additional photos or questions. Non-working but fully restorable. I think it is missing only one tube, power cord, and speaker cone. No major cracks or damage (one repairable flaw on back). Bakelite is in good condition. I have added grill cloth and will send you some. Internet YouTube has full repair schematics and repair guided… Or looks great as a display model. The FADA model 360 W is sought after and rare… And beautiful 1937 Art Deco.
Unmolested ORIGINAL ZENITH BLACK DIAL RADIO from local family estate. I have provided pics from every angle and they can be enlarged as well. Untested because of what I found below….. Question: I just acquired an antique radio. I don’t know if it works or not. Can I plug it in and turn it on? Plug in and turn on an old, unrestored radio until it has been thoroughly checked for signs of trouble. This includes, but is not necessary limited to. Replacing the electrolytic (filter) condensers. Examining the underside of the chassis, paying close attention to the bottom of the power transformer. Look for any signs of a waxy substance leaking from the transformer. If you see it, the transformer has overheated at some time and may no longer function properly (if at all).
