I took pictures from various angles, please look at all the photos so that you know what you are getting. It looks beautiful from across the room as a decorative radio, however up close the finish shows spots and unevenness which can be seen in the photos when you zoom in. See that it has been patched in the corner near the back. Be sure to look at that photo from the top showing the back, and the E openings, one of them was repaired, and looks different from the rest of the wood. Three of the louvers are not original. The back cover is something I made in my garage. The power cord is new, and so is the dial string, the rectifier tube has been changed, I think it is new old stock, and one other tube was changed. The filters are new, the wax capacitors have been changed. I picked up a few local radio stations in my area. You would need to extend the supplied antenna wire, or install your own antenna connection. From 1938 to 1940. Walnut Ingraham cabinet, that measures approximately 10.5 ×6.25 ×4.50 inches. This gorgeous radio was made circa 1939. Model CH-256, widely considered one of the most sought-after cabinet designs by Ingraham (made in Connecticut). Cabinet features raised and curved grille bars (FACTORY ORIGINAL), Bakelite knobs, original Ingraham foil and Emerson label on bottom. The plastic dial lens has been replaced. Measures 10.5″ wide x 6.25″ high x 4.5 deep. The chassis has been electronically restored, and plays. EMERSON “STRADIVARIUS” MODEL CL256. This is the Emerson “Strad” that most collectors desire. It has been carefully refinished. And recapped to playing condition. It receives local stations (50 miles + or -) loud. And clear, distant stations (1,000 miles + or -) not so loud and not so clear. All caps have been replaced including the electrolytics. New, reproduction back and chassis patent label. The “Ingraham” label is the original. Felt pads on the bottom and felt behind the knobs. As seen, the composite photo shows the radio in natural daylight with no modification(s). Tubes: 12A8GT, 12K7GT, 12Q7GT, 35L6GT and a 35X4GT rectifier. This rare wood case d dial version emerson stradivarius radio is housed in a well built ingraham made cabinet that has one of the most impressive designs. The facade of this radio sports speaker grille bars like the strings of a fine violin. The top stradivarius violin cutouts give the radios sound the effect of a fine violin. The radios condition is very nice. This radio still retains its bottom tag , (metal ingraham tag). The radios 70+ year old tube type electronics is unrestored and had only a hum in the sound.
