This old Heathkit station monitor is pretty dirty as a result of years in storage. The good news is that despite the dust, it’s straight with no damage. With some time and effort it should clean up well. I haven’t taken it out of the cabinet, but I see no obvious signs of modification. This will make a decent restoration candidate, or a great parts unit! After nearly eight years in business, we’ve made the decision to no longer test vintage equipment that’s been sitting idle for long periods of time. I apologize for this, but we’ve simply encountered too many problems. But that doesn’t necessarily mean this is a junker! We have relationships with plenty of reputable technicians around the US and will be happy to pass along their contact info upon request! Good condition overall with the main wear being some minor signs of surface rust on a couple of the body pieces. DOES NOT COME WITH CABLE THAT CONNECTS THE TWO UNITS, WHICH IS THE ONLY REASON IT IS LISTED FOR PARTS. Capacitors, resistors, and tubes have been replaced / checked and are in working order. VTG BROWNING GOLDEN EAGLE MARK IV TRANSMITTER MK4 CB/HAM BASE STATION TUBE RADIO. This radio hasnt been used in four years but I did use it a good bit before I moved. I cannot find the microphone so I did not key it up I did however hear static coming from the speaker powered it up with no issues and moved it through all channels I believe the radio will work 100% but as old as it is and as rough as the shippers are who knows??? VINTAGE BROWNING GOLDEN EAGLE MARK IV RECEIVER. I’ll describe what I know and what I did to test the unit. I took the unit covers off and first noticed the brown overheated board on the bottom (shown in first pictures below) and that looked a bit suspect to me, so I. First powered it on with a dim bulb tester and it showed no concerns. I then powered it up slowly on a variac. The front panel lights lit at around 60 volts and some tubes were lit and no problems so far, but as I reached 70 I felt a bit of heat coming off around that browned board area and a bit more heat coming off the big silver cylinder cap on top, so I decided to stop there and and not do any further testing. The unit is in pretty good cosmetic condition and is very clean. The previous owner wrote on the inside bottom cover. Top metal faux wood grain cover is in excellent condition. A few marks on the face, but not too bad. There are 28 pictures to look through. GREAT ITEM, GREAT COLLECTIBLE!
