Vtg Rare Early Heathkit Model DX-100B Ham Shortwave Tube Type Radio Transmitter. This rare heathkit transmitter is in good pre-owned used condition. Considering the age of this transmitter it does show some signs of ware with age such as scuff marks, dents an scratches. That mentioned this radio also has some slight yellowing with age. This unit does sit a little un-even and is missing a leg. This heathkit was unable to be tested leaving the full operation unknown. All this radios knobs do turn freely except for the band switch is stiff and will probably need cleaning. This transmitter came from a radio collectors estate sale. Made in 1942 this is a seldom seen dual band wood tabletop by Zenith with an attractive blue and black dial. It is a model # 6-D-512. This radio has original finish in above average condition for being nearly 77 years old. Original brass dial pointer, iconic “Z” white plastic knobs and grill cloth. It plays very well all across the dial having been electronically restored. This is one of the rare small tabletops that has the shortwave band. It has a internal wave-magnet antenna and six tubes for better reception. It also has a 5 round speaker for better acoustics. The radio retains it factory original back panel. The sound is nice, warm sound. The radio came from Germany and has a European style plug, but there is also an adapter which I use to plug into sockets we use here in the U. Note in the last photo : one of the piano style keys popped off recently. Radio still works and I have the key, as you can see in the last photo. Get some static when tuning from one station to the next. I listen to a classical music station in my area and the sound is very nice. Hallicrafters SX-130 Vintage Tube Shortwave Radio Receiver for Parts or Repair. This is a very clean receiver for it’s age. The cabinet has a few scuffs and scratches, but looks great for it’s age. The faceplate looks great! The bad news is that it has some problems. When powered on, it has audio and RF gain, but has as pulsing noise and no stations are heard at all. Perhaps a component is breaking down, or a key tube has died? This will make a great project and you’ll have a fine radio once it’s taken care of! This radio has the oval “racetrack” dial and is highly sought after. The functions of the 4 round knobs from left to right are On/Off/Volume, Tone (2 positions), Tuning, and Function. The radio has 5 pushbuttons on the lower part of the brass escutcheon. The Function knob on the far right selects either Shortwave, Standard Broadcast, or Automatic that activates the station presets. I had to pull out very slightly on the tuning knob to tune the radio smoothly (otherwise it would sometimes catch before moving again). Please look at all of the pictures for more detail.
