Step back into TV history with this Pilot TV-37, one of the first portable consumer televisions, manufactured in 1948 by Pilot Radio Corp. Long Island City, NY. This set powers on -the tubes glow and crackle, and a bright dot of light appears on the 3-inch screen (see photos). Beyond that, it is untested for reception or operation. 14.5″ W x 9.5″ H x 14 D. Original cord present, all four knobs intact. Shows scratches, scuffs, and age-related wear consistent with a 75+ year-old set (see photos for full condition). The Pilot TV-37 is highly collectible due to its unique compact design and status as one of the first affordable post-war TVs. Even as a display piece, these are sought after by collectors and mid-century enthusiasts alike.
I have plug this device in and dose power on. Have not done a full test on this device “lack of knowledge”. However the power cord has seen better days and needs to be replaced it’s in very poor condition and brittle crumbling apart The Vintage Triplet 1503 Multipurpose Tube Tester is a unique tool designed to test radio and TV tubes for power. With its brand being Triplet, this product is likely to have a classic and reliable design that is perfect for vintage electronics enthusiasts. This multipurpose tube tester is an essential accessory for those looking to restore or maintain the functionality of old audio and video equipment.
It doesn’t have its back panel, but the bottom of the wooden housing is marked with “CM 3051″, so I believe this is a model 3051 from around 1939. It powers on enough to light up and some of the tubes light up, but I’m not getting any sound from it. It does need a new power cord, as the current one has a few damaged spots and exposed wiring. The speaker fabric is not original, and in my opinion, I think this radio would look better with a different fabric! The writing on the faces of the buttons have worn off and aren’t fully legible. I don’t have a back panel for the radio. There are scuffs, scratches, and small stains scattered throughout. Will come as shown, so please see photos! MEASUREMENTS: This radio measures approximately 11 1/2″ wide, 7″ front-to-back, and 9 1/2 tall at furthest points. Carrier available to your zip code than what is listed first. The “not as described” return option is not to be used to resolve damaged item cases.
