Here’s a beautiful RCA Model 28T Tube Radio! Picks up Broadcast, Police, Aircraft, and Amateur bands. Excellent condition, with just a little light veneer lifting at one bottom corner, no big deal. Has all it’s tubes, radio hums when turned on, so will need to be recapped. A nice electronic project, and you don’t need to refinish the cabinet! This a restoration project, but I do not think it is big one. Seems to be complete, or at close to it. Powers on, but no sound coming out. Finish shows age, wear, staining and patina. The tag says two way radio. 1010A – transmission type CC1008 serial number G4082 power source primary 12 V DC that’s why we think it’s for a car – possibly police or fire? May not be complete. May or may not work. If you want to pick it up, contact me, and I’ll arrange to meet you at our shop in Angelica, New York. I do not have the key. Apparently – something on this radio locks – another reason we think it is from a police car or fire truck. We just checked one of the patent numbers – 2770721 – that’s for a squelch circuit from 1952. RCA Victor no dials but is working and got several station some pretty clear, needs a new cord though, the chassis isnt attached so it should be pretty to change it, will need to be stabelized though so it doesnt fall out when you pick it up. 11″ X 8″ tall. Weighs near 9 pounds. Was rated A when it came out in the 1938. Personal catalog number 632-633. Radio is in very nice shape for it’s age. Veneer is solid and adhered well. When we were cleaning this up to take pictures it was playing fine and tuning in stations with no hum. After we got done cleaning it up we brought it to the photo booth and all we could get was static. Not sure what happened but it is not tuning in stations now. The knobs are not original but are all metal and don’t look that out of place. Speaker cloth looks good. Tuner needle works and tuner window does not have any cracks. Great radio for restoration or display.. Please look at the 12 pictures closely and judge the condition and content of this lot for yourself as our photos are a large portion of our description.
