Hallicrafters SX-71 HAM tube radio receiver, a speaker and short wire antenna were connected, the radio powered on and reception was okay receiving broadcasts on two of the five bands with some static, the radio could use a detailed cleaning, one cap appears to be newer replacement and a previous owner added a small speaker to the inside lid, the speaker works okay, otherwise the radio appears to be all original and should be serviced due to age. Hallicrafters SX-11 HAM tube radio receiver, a speaker and short wire antenna were connected, the radio powered on and reception was good receiving on three of the five bands, the radio appears clean inside and out. The Crystal In/Out switch will need attention as it is intermittent as will the Tone Control, all other controls appear to function well, one knob is missing it’s plastic pointer, usually most if not all these are broken, otherwise all others look good, the eye tube does not light, unknown if the tube is bad or if there is another issue, the rectifier tube tube has been replaced with a solid state modification – see pics, otherwise the radio appears to still have all it’s original parts. This is a vintage Philco table top radio in beautiful, original condition. The dial lights up and it plays lots of stations. Measures 14 1/2″ X 10 1/4″ X 8 and it weighs just over 12 pounds. The clear plastic dial cover is wavy and the dial marker does not move when changing stations. No breaks or repairs. Normal surface wear including some scratches. Most items i list are from local estates and usually they are in areas of collecting that I have little or no knowledge of.
