This is a wooden cabinet that has been painted over tight burlap. When I bought it, the paint job was horrible. I had a professional go over it along with the grill, which is a nice red. The knobs are plastic, not catalin. The dial glass is a replacement as the original wars cracked. The chassis has been gone through by Chuck Dachis, The Hallicrafter Collector, and a close personal friend. He also put a new, safe cord on it. Good luck and thanks for looking.
