Turn Table seems to function as it should. I don’t have any 78s but it played a 45. Sounded like the Chipmunks but I guess that makes sense. Up for your consideration is a. Antique/Vintage ADMIRAL Corporation Model 5D31D / Chassis 5D3A. Great RARE Estate Find – BAKELITE (Similar to Plastic) in very nice condition, no cracks or splits. I will add the record turntable does sometimes need a bit of help to get started spinning (I assume the belt is stretched and just aged). However once we got it turning it played the record just fine. Hoping this really cool retro piece will find a new good home for someone who will appreciate it and love it, and possible do a full blown restoration. What you see is what you get, nothing more, nothing less. (Very Big and Heavy). Will take extra care to wrap and protect this piece, which will be additional packaging and box. AS-IS, PARTS OR REPAIR. This has been tested but I could not get it working properly with the radio or record player. It powered on, the light came on and some of the tubes lit up. It made a steady hum noise after the tubes heated up. I could not get any sound out of the speakers with either radio or record player. The turntable would spin and the tone arm would auto-lower into position. The turntable motor was quite noisy while operating. No further testing has been done. The cabinet has several scuff marks, scratches and signs of wear from storage and use. The power cord is worn and damaged, a large section of it is cracking and brittle. The knobs are in very good condition. Overall, the unit is in decent condition for the age. Please review all photos closely, they are of the actual product you will receive.
