Antique 1930s wooden Philco table radio. Great Deco style with the flared out and curved sides. Measures 11-1/2″ across the front, 5″ deep, and 8-1/2 tall. All original vintage condition. Normal surface wear from age & use. The tuner knob moves the station pointer only about halfway and then it seems to slip. This transceiver looks pretty good. The cabinet has some paint flaked off (see photos), but overall it looks nice. The front panel is in terrific condition. Inside, it looks to be free of modification and all components look original. The function (mode) switch feels a little soft and may need attention. The rest of the controls feel good. This one will make an excellent candidate for restoration! This piece of equipment is believed to have not been used in years (possibly decades). It will almost certainly need some level of service. This may include: replacement of electrical components (such as capacitors, resistors, diodes, tubes, etc), cleaning of controls, alignment, and so forth. If you’re not qualified to do this work yourself, we’re happy to provide you with a list of qualified technicians available for hire. I obtained about 80 tube radios from an estate sale. I will be listing these over the next few weeks so please see my other listings. This listing is for an Emerson model 8CW-334. Brown marbled bakelite with gold tone dial. Condition: All original and unmolested. The body has absolutely no cracks or scratches. BOTH ORIGINAL MARBLED BAKELITE KNOBS ARE STILL THERE. The dial cover has no cracks! The body is in good shape with on fleabite on the bottom…. Maybe a couple scuffs at most. The wood back is no longer with the radio. The insides will need some cleaning. The cord is dry and cracked so it should be replaced. I did not test the radio as a result. These radios are highly collectable and are getting harder to find online. It will be protected well and insured. Let me know if you have questions. Here you have from my collection. A BEAUTIFUL FADA BULLET 1000 TWO TONE RADIO. Its all there – original knobs, dial lens, and back, & handle. Not working, knobs work as they should, and point to radio station when turned, as well as on/off. Chasis is all there. Body is perfect, a bit dusty, with good finish. I will leave it up to the new owner to polish it up, and overhaul if desired. Again, this one is all there, looks great, but with a little work, will look like a million bucks! We have a vintage 1958/59 tube tabletop radio. Designed and manufactured by NordMende. Made in Hemelingen, Germany. Model is Turandot 59. Catalog number Ch= 59/614. Case – Natural Wood (looks teak, but mostly advertised as walnut). Superheterodyne broadcast with both short and long waves. Plus FM or UHF. Shape – Atomic tabletop with push buttons and dials. Dimensions – 19.7 x 12 x 10.2 inches (W x H x D). Weight – approximately 8.5 kg’s or 18.75 pounds. Functioning – will work when appropriate tube is replaced, as per previous owner. Upon our assessment, the radio dial doesn’t move to the right very well, needs tightening, but does move. Radio will not power on. Cord has exposed copper wire in one spot (see photo). Top of wood case has black circles and some scratches. Original sham material cover with strings (clean). Chassis is complete, with minor dust on circuitry. This radio is in all original unrestored condition. It has not been cleaned, as-found condition. Will leave any cleaning to the new owner. It retains its original back with model number and tube layout. It does have dirt and some small paint specs from someone who must have painted nearby at some point in its lifetime. Amazingly, there are no cracks. There is one tiny chip as shown in the last picture, I put a blue pen next to the chip for size reference. The chip is very small and not visible when displayed youd really have to be looking for it. When turned on the radio takes a minute to warm up but has a loud hum. It does try to pull in stations but they play very garbled. Either display as is or would be a great candidate for restoration!
