This is a rare, original, working Nanaora N-2 model four-tube vacuum tube radio (1941, Showa 16 model). Width: 39 cm, Height: 24 cm, Depth: 18 cm. Prior to listing, we connected it to a power outlet and an external antenna over 2 meters long to test its operation. While tuning is quite delicate, we were able to receive radio broadcasts from NHK and other stations. Please note, however, that this information is for reference only. The volume may seem a little low, but since this radio does not have a volume control, we cannot say whether this is due to the reception environment. The exterior, housed in a natural wooden box, shows some dents and dirt, but is in good condition for an 80-year-old product. The front dial also has some dirt on the back, but there are no major cracks or damage, and it is generally in good condition. The vacuum tubes used appear to be original Mazda parts. A maintenance memo from the deceased is found inside the unit. We have no experience with this type of product, so please review the photos and make your own judgment. This was a fairly popular radio when it was introduced & is still a fairly popular & desirable radio by today’s standards. THIS VINTAGE NICE LOOKING CORONADO RADIO THAT JUST LOOKS WONDERFUL & IT WORKS. The Wood cabinet on this Beauty has it’s Original Finish & looks Good (Not perfect by any means) as there are some scratches & nicks etc.. FOR A RADIO THAT IS 88YRS OLD & IN IT’S ORIGINAL FINISH IT LOOKS PRETTY DARN GOOD:>. This radio has been cleaned & polished which still retains it’s original sheen or shine for the most part. I have taken Many Pictures so you may get a good view at this Nice looking Radio. The 3 Marbled ROSETTE Bakelite. Control knobs are original & in fantastic looking condition. The Speaker Grill cloth is a in nice condition. THE ANTENNA SYSTEM CONSIST OF A LONG. WIRE THAT MUST BE STRETCHED OUT IN (1) ONE DIRECTION OR ANOTHER UP/DOWN/RIGHT/LEFT? The chassis is in Great condition & it is a 5-tube unit with 3-controls that are in good working condition. The 3-controls are (from left to right) 1-VOLUME, 2-TUNING & 3rd-ON/OFF. The tube line up is One-6A8, One-6B7, One-42, One-6D6 & One-80. The chassis had has all New Electrolytic Capacitors replaced & paper/wax capacitors were replaced as needed & a nice electric cord was installed. This radio has been restored to good working condition. When this Nice looking CORONADO radio is powered up. PLEASE FINISHING READING THE REST OF THE DESCRIPTION. This “CORONADO” would make an Excellent addition to your radio collection or as a stand alone radio as it’s power & beauty will surely be the talk of the room by all whom enter. Sized of this Fabulous GEM is 14-1/2″ High, 11-3/4″ Long & 8 Wide/Deep. This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology “unlike modern day solid state radios” can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV’S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires above your home, etc… So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. A lot of tube radios are “Directional” meaning you ” MAY ” have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best reception. Tube radio usually take 30 to 45 seconds after they have been turned/powered ON before they will start playing as the tubes have to warm up. I package very well for a safe arrival.
