This 1956 ASTOR Model “Special Five” Australian-made. Radio is in Very Good Visual Condition, exactly as it appears in the Photos. It is pretty Clean inside-out. There is a small crack in the join on top of the Set, which is not visible when the two Cabinet halves are joined. Also, there is some fading on the Artwork of the clear plastic Front Panel/Face. The location of the ring-fade corresponds with the circumference of the Speaker. Operationally, it is has been tested and is working quite well. It has good Sensitivity across the whole MW Band, and it. Receives Stations at a much stronger level when the white Antenna Wire is touched. The received Stations’ Sound is Clear and Full-bodied, but there is some crackling present, so there may possibly be need of an alignment or Capacitor replacement. That said, it is a pleasure to listen to, with the Tone Control working. The Radio has sufficient Volume, and t. He Dial Lamp illuminates the Station Dial well.
