The model/cat number on this wonderful radio is 8021 & it was produced in the 1949 era. The cabinet is made out of bakelite or thick plastic & it is a light to medium gray in color. This is a painted cabinet straight from the factory. This cabinet has been cleaned & polished which still retains it’s original sheen or shine that looks great. There are no cracks or chips in the cabinet but there are a few light nicks & scratches in the paint as you can see in several pictures which none of them really detract from the overall beauty of this radio. This radio presents itself well & in my eyes & did not warrant a repaint. Also i did not want to have this cabinet repainted as i wanted to leave it all original. I have taken may pictures of this radio so you may get a good view at this unique looking & working retro radio. The plastic dial scale lens cover is clean & clear with no cracks. There also has been a new dial light installed, however it is really not a dial scale light as the light really only lights up the “silvertone” on the dial scale as shown in a picture. The metal silver mesh speaker grill is in fantastic condition. The 4 control knobs are original & in great looking & working condition. The original paper label on the bottom is in great condition. The original back panel is present that holds on tight & secure & is in fantastic condition. The chassis is in great condition & it is a 7 tube unit with 4 controls. The controls are as stated from left to right #1-volume #2-on/off/tone #3-band #4-tuning & all 4 controls are in great working condition. The chassis has had all new electrolytic capacitor/filters installed & all paper/wax capacitors have been replaced & a new electric cord has been installed. Also the selenium rectifier has been replaced. This radio has been restored to fantastic working condition. This silvertone radio would make an excellent addition to. Your radio collection or as a stand alone radio as it’s power &. Beauty will surely be the talk of the room by all whom enter. I have a few antique vintage tube radios & items.
