Working vintage SK2 Braun midcentury tube radio excellent condition

This is a very nice Braun SK2 tube radio that’s in excellent working order. It dates from the late 1950s or early 1960s. It’s a great example of mid-century modern design, and this model, along with its cousins the SK1 and SK25, can be found in various museums around the world. I’ve tried to show the radio from all angles in the pictures, but can happily provide more photos. As it works well and I have no technical knowledge at all, I thought it best to just leave the cover in place. If you want some pictures of the tubes etc inside, let me know. It has a German plug, so I’ll included a European to UK plug adaptor. If you prefer, you can obviously just cut the plug off and put a UK one on. Vintage 1950′s Telefunken Gavotte 7 Tube AM/FM Radio Midcentury Nice

Featured for your consideration we have an attractive and functional vintage radio! This radio, the Telefunkeb Gavotte, is a seven tube radio from West Germany, circa late 1950′s. Condition overall is very good, minor surface wears but nothing noticable– I was actually very impressed with the asthetic appeal of this radio! The wooden chassis is the old original nitro-cellulose with transparent laque for a very shiny and appealing midcentury design. Does not appear to have been faded or damaged from sun over time. Dimensions (WHD): 475 x 335 x 195 mm / 18″ x 13.2″ x 7.7. The power cord is original and in good, working condition. The sound of the radio is very good, all of the buttons function and the backlit display lights up very well. The green plasma gauge feature on the front is very cool looking, unique, and wavers from thin to being filled out on the basis of signal strength– a unique and accurate indicator. Weight of the unit is around 18lbs. Ships with love and care from Atlanta, Georgia. Great piece for midcentury modern enthusiasts, audiophiles and movie or set designers. Working vintage SK 2/2 1950s Braun midcentury tube radio original condition

This is a beautiful and fully working Braun SK2/2 tube radio with a Bakelite case dating from the late 1950s to very early 1960s. This model was in production from 1959 to 1961. It was designed by Artur Braun and Fritz Eichler in the same year that the renowned Dieter Rams was hired by the firm. With its simplicity and aesthetic beauty, this really is a design classic and can be found in various museums around the world. To me, it still looks genuinely modern, despite the design being around 60 years old. It’s in original condition and hasn’t been repainted or played around with at all. This means there are various imperfections to the paint on the Bakelite casing. Also, there is some damage to the panel at the back, but it’s not loose and remains solidly in place. Despite its original condition and age, it’s still highly presentable and looks fantastic. I’ve tried to show the radio from all angles in the pictures, but can happily provide more photos. There is slight crackling when compared to a modern radio, but it’s still fine to listen to. If you plug in an external aerial (which is not included, but cheaply and easily available), it becomes louder and improves the signal, so you can turn the volume quite low.
