Her we have a german piece of history! GRUNDIG 5040 W tube radio. This one was the top of the line in 1953 and the biggest Grundig tube radio at that time. It has the biggest Grundig speaker build in ever build. The tube amplifier has the big EL12 tube build in for powerful sounding. It comes from closed collection and we did a quick audio test and is wokring. Found some FM stations with small antenna, other bands were not tested and possibly need external antenna or restoration. The woden cabinet looks great, also the unit is clean. Size: 706 x 444 x 318 mm / 27.8 x 17.5 x 12.5 inch. Weight: 18 kg / 39 lb 10.4 oz (39.648 lb). Multi voltage can be set easily: 110; 125; 220; 240 Volt. There are 8 tubes inside (EC92, ECC81, EL12, EM35, EAF42, ECH81, EABC80) – the magic eye is working too.
