Vtg Zenith Trans-Oceanic Wave Magnet World-Band Radio Powers On. I did not see the model number. The unit powers on and I can hear static but I didn’t tune anything in clearly. I don’t know how to actually use this item to make it sound more clear. The plastic top where the logs go has been taped on one side. It powers on but I didn’t see a glow from a light (it might just need to be replaced but I don’t know how to replace the bulb). All knob and buttons work. The antenna looks like it was possibly bent when fully extended. It is in its original case that shows ware. This listing is for an old radio which I believe is a short wave model from the 1950′s. It’s a Zenith Wave Magnet Trans-Oceanic model, and it seems to work. I know very little about old radios, so take what I say with a grain of salt and check out the photos. The reception was okay, but not great, and I could barely hear a couple other stations. The old man I bought it from said he listened all the time, and he had it set up in his garage workshop. I can’t get the back panel open, and there is something rolling around inside. The volume and dial knobs work fine, but I couldn’t get any reception on the other bands. The dial light doesn’t work. I have hundreds of antiques and collectibles listed in my store. All of my items were found in estate sales and cleanouts on Cape Cod. None of the items have been touched by the public, just stored in totes. All items have been stored for weeks or thoroughly washed. Priority is much faster, no doubt. I pack carefully, and fragile items will always be in an ample-sized, sturdy box with lots of bubble wrap and foam peanuts used. Here we have a. 1941 1942 Zenith Long Distance tube radio with wave magnet. Model 6G601M This has the brown airplane fabric. This radio does power on. We were not able to get stations. Appears to be complete. Here is some information we found on this model at radio museum. United States of America (USA). Broadcast Receiver – or past WW2 Tuner. Number of Tubes 6. Superhet with RF-stage; ZF/IF 455 kHz. Power type and voltage. Line / Batteries (any type) / Either AC: 117V or DC: 117V or Batteries: 9 & 90 Volt. Permanent Magnet Dynamic (PDyn) Loudspeaker (moving coil) / Ø 5.25 inch = 13.3 cm. 0.36 W (unknown quality). Leather / canvas / plastic – over other material. Model: 6G601M Universal Portable Radio Ch= 6B03 – Zenith Radio Corp. 15 x 9.8 x 7 inch / 381 x 249 x 178 mm. The Zenith 6G601M is an AC/DC/Battery operated portable 6 tube BC band receiver. The BC band frequency tuning range is 540 to 1620kHz. Cabinet is wood covered with brown cotton fabric, Bud long design. Power consumption 20 W. The following models use the same chassis and schematic but have different cabinets. Blue and Gray Airplane Fabric. Genuine Top Grade Cowhide. Brown and Ivory Airplane Fabric.
