This is an extremely clean Drake transceiver. It came from an estate where it was packaged away in deep storage, presumably not used in many years. There’s hardly a scratch on the cabinet and the faceplate is flawless. Take a look at the pictures and I think you’ll agree. Also included is the original user manual. From what we can tell, the radio is all original. We’re not experts on Drake gear, but all components look original and we see no obvious modifications. The bad news is that we don’t currently have a working Drake power supply in the shop, and even if we did, I’m not sure we’d want to power it up. Given that it hasn’t been used in years, possibly decades, it’s almost a certainty that it’s going to need some work. You should count on the need to replace some capacitors, possibly some tubes, etc. Once up and running, this will be one of the finest TR-4CW’s out there!
