Vintage Valve Radio c. 1950 Kolster Brandes Midget FB10 MW LW Toaster Tube Bakelite. The company originally made speakers, before branching into mid-range electronics, such as radios, record players and radiograms. This particular radio, the FB10 model, was a valve-based set produced from around 1950. It was more affectionately known as the “Toaster” model, both due to its distinctive design and its tendency to run hot! The model was capable of picking up MW and LW frequencies. In the latter case, we will send you an invoice ASAP. Some of the exceptions to these rules are as follows. Items over 15 KG will be issued via an alternate courier service, which will be sent in conjunction with ParcelMonkey. All items are available to collect in person from Wolverhampton in the West Midlands. There is no charge for this, but please get in touch in advance if this is something you wish to do. K-9 KOLSTER SPEAKER CABINET WITH A WORKING 9 & 1/4 SPEAKER INSIDE. CHECK OUT THE 4 ALUMINUM CLAW FOOT LEGS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CABINET. THE LEGS MAKE THIS UNIT LOOK LIKE A TOASTER THAT CAN WALK AROUND. TESTED AND FOUND TO BE WORKING approx 9 & 1/4 SPEAKER WITH NO NOTICED RIPS, CUTS, HOLES OR REPAIRS. SPEAKER SIZE APPROX 13 HIGH WHEN MEASURED WITH THE ORNATE CLAW FOOT LEGS. UNIT IS APPROX 12″ ACROSS AND 8″ DEEP. THIS IS REALLY AN ODDBALL UNIT… BUT THAT’S WHAT MAKES COLLECTING OLD RADIOS SO MUCH FUN. THE CABINET IS THE SAME TYPE OF MATERIAL THAT CROSLEY USED FOR ITS “BUDDY” RADIO SERIES. CONDITION: WORKING SPEAKER WITH A BEAUTIFUL CONE. NO NOTICED RIPS, CUTS, HOLES OR REPAIRS ON THE CONE. THERE ARE A FEW SMALL FLAWS ON THE CABINET WHICH CAN BE SEE IN THE CLOSE UP GALLERY PHOTOS. THE POWER SUPPLY STRIP NEEDS TWO 2.5 VOLT AC FEEDS AT 7.5 AMPS…. PLUS A 142 VOLT TRANSFORMER. THE AMP STRIP NEEDS AN AUDIO DRIVER TRANFORMER AT A 4-1 OR 3-1 RATIO TO THE AMP.
