Vintage Atwater Kent Type E2 Radio Speaker 1920s Era. Untreated but there are wires in tact on the back of the speaker unit. Appears to be white paint on bottom as pictured. I was able to pick some of this off cleaning it but I didnt want to take away from the finish. Measures 15.5 tall and approx 13 wide. Vintage Atwater Kent Model 20 Tube Radio Receiving Set Deluxe Cabinet. No Tubes Therefore, not tested. Made in 1924, USA. Some fun facts: Back in the day, c1924, not every home had electricity. No problem as this radio was battery powered. When one bought the radio it would come with two battery packs, one to power at the local hardware store and one to use at home. There would be a small pile of scrap paper and a copy of that week’s radio programs. You would write down what shows were on which frequencies and head back home. This radio appears to be in good cosmetic condition for it’s age, but certainly isn’t perfect. The wooden cabinet has some scuffs and scratches, and there appears to be a few pieces of hardware missing from the front panel (and maybe an additional hole drilled below the left knob). Inside, it looks good and includes all tubes. This piece of equipment is believed to have not been used in years (possibly decades). It will almost certainly need some level of service. This may include: replacement of electrical components (such as capacitors, resistors, diodes, tubes, etc), cleaning of controls, alignment, and so forth. If you’re not qualified to do this work yourself, we’re happy to provide you with a list of qualified technicians available for hire. If you prefer one carrier over the other, please make that request when paying for the item. Rest assured, you’ll receive your item in excellent condition!
