This radio is for parts or repair only. I do not know how to test the radio and all of its functions. I plugged the radio in and all of the lights on the meters work as they should. The radio had static coming through the external speaker. I could not get a station to come in but I also do not have any antennae for the radio. The tubes on the radio look to light up when powered on as well. The radio comes with an Atlas Sound external speaker. The radio is in Good cosmetic condition. The radio has all of its original buttons and knobs present and intact on the radio. All of the knobs and buttons work as they should as well. The radio does show signs of use from over the years with minor surface scratches and scuffs (please see pictures). I took a lot of pictures to show you what you are receiving. A Hammarlund HQ-ONE FORTY FIVE-X (145x) Communications Receiver with it’s original Users’ Manual! I acquired this from an estate from a gentleman that collected and used vintage electronics. I did some minor testing to the equipment and found that the clock does work, all knobs turn freely, both Main Tuning and Band Spread knobs turn their corresponding gauges above (which light up). By looking into the equipment through the small holes on the outside of the metal case, it appears that all of the vacuum tubes are present. It does appear to be missing the “Antenna” knob, but all other knobs and switches appear to be present and working. Please see pictures for condition. Please let me know if you have any questions. Hammarlund HQ-170 Vintage 160 – 6 Meter Ham Radio Tube Receiver SN 6590. This radio is in very good condition for its age showing little wear! Aside from some small scuffs, dings, and scratches in a few places the radio looks fanastically clean! This item has been tested by our technician, a ham radio operator of more than 55 years. Here’s what he had to say: Tested with RF generator for signal strength on all bands. All controls work, the meter and dial lamps work, the crystal calibrator works as well.
