1951 Vintage Zenith Wave magnet Trans-Oceanic radio model H500 working condition

The model number is H500 and the chassis number is 5G40 with a serial number of 395094. This radio works when plugged in and warms up. It is still hard to tune in a lot of radio stations. There is several scratches, a few small tears and wear marks on the outer case. This radio shows usage and wear and tear. The electrical cable and the antenna are in good condition. This is a cool looking radio. The radio measures 17″ X 12″ X 7.5. This one works picking up shortwave stations well at appropriate times of the day. It picks up strong local stations but if you touch the right terminal on the mounted “Wave Magnet” antenna stations come in stronger. Shortwave performance is pretty good as is. It varies across the band but does not interfere with listening to stations. There is no hum on the SW frequencies. This radio seams to be original. Theo manual and a schematic is original and NOT a reproduction. The suction cups have hardened and are no longer useful. I have tested the radio and it’s clear and sounds great. Overall condition of the radio is quite good. All buttons and knobs are present and working. The case does have light damage to speak of. The antenna is complete and straight and a lot longer than I have shown here. This is a complete original unit.. Excellent used condition Zenith Super Trans-oceanic Portable Radio. I have not tested this, but based on condition it should be working. The radio antenna fully extends and is not broken. Excellent used condition Zenith Super Trans-oceanic Portable Radio. I have tested this as far as receiving one channel and that’s it. The radio antenna fully extends and is not broken. The spring mechanism works for the antenna as well for releasing from the housing. This has the 110V – 220V add on which is generally rare to find as it was for use when in other countries. Included is a vintage head set which is untested. You will receive everything shown in the pictures. Overall this is a great unit with a great condition housing.
