Dimensions: 16 ¾ wide x 5 ¾ deep x 8 ¾ tall. In great shape cosmetically, plays nicely, but a little hard to tune in stations. A few small light scratches on the case, nothing to write home about. Vintage ZENITH Trans Oceanic H500 Multi Band Tube RADIO; Mid Century; circa 1950s; WORKS GREAT! Even the antennae and cord are super!! And the battery harness wiring is present!! The latches to the case work perfectly; the knob tune and volume works as it should. Screen is clear and has no dings, chips or discoloration (please excuse the glare spots from the lighting, but it is excellent). Has hookup for head phones, too. Picked up Russian broadcasts when I turned it on! This is a GREAT RADIO!!! Size overall is 17″ x 7 1/2″ x 11. Mid-Century Modern PHILCO RADIO. TESTED AND FOUND TO BE WORKING GREAT. HERE IS A REAL RADIO POWERHOUSE. GREAT SOUND / LOTS OF VOLUME / AND AN ABILITY TO PULL IN STATIONS FROM FAR AWAY. TONIGHT AS I WAS LISTENING HERE IN PITTSBURGH, I HEARD WCBS IN NEW YORK LIKE IT WAS DOWN THE STREET. I ALSO GOT STATIONS FROM PHILLY & BOSTON. THE DIAL WAS LOADED WITH SIGNALS. THIS IS ALSO A FULL RANGE FM RADIO WHICH IS UNUSUAL FOR 1948. THE SIGNAL WAS NOT AS STRONG…. BUT I WAS ONLY USING THE COPPER ANTENNA INSIDE THE RADIO. THE FM WILL PROBABLY REQUIRE SOME ADDITIONAL AERIAL WIRE. APPROX SIZE: 19 x 11 x 12 HIGH. CONDITION: TESTED / WORKING. FM WILL NEED AN ADDITIONAL AERIAL. ELECTRONICALLY THIS RADIO IS IN TOP CONDITION. THE WOOD FINISH IS PRETTY GOOD. THERE IS A WEAR SPOT ON THE TOP LEFT SIDE. THERE IS SOME CRAZING OF THE FINISH ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT ROUNDED SHOULDERS. PHILCO FLATTOP TABLE MODEL RADIO FOR SALE. PHILCO model 38-2670 RADIO. THIS RADIO IS JUST OUT OF THE SHOP WHERE IT HAS BEEN REBUILT WITH 90% NEW CAPACITORS. HOWEVER, IF YOU LOOK AT THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CHASSIS… IT WILL LOOK LIKE THE ORIGINAL CAPS. THAT’S BECAUSE OUR GENIUS TECH REPACKED THE OLD CAPS TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL LOOK. OUR GUY ALSO CLEANED ALL THE KNOB SHAFTS FOR SMOOTH DIALING ACTION. TESTED AND FOUND TO BE WORKING WELL. RADIO HAS A GOOD SOLID SHELL WITH MODERATE WEAR. KNOBS AND FACEPLATE ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. RADIO PUTS OUT A GOOD, CLEAR SOUND. IN FACT THE SOUND IS VERY GOOD IN THE BASS RANGE. IT PRODUCES A NICE WARM TUBE SOUND. THERE ARE FIVE BANDS LISTED ON THE DIAL GRAPHIC BUT SOME OF THE BANDS ARE NO LONGER USED BY BROADCASTERS. — just don’t forget to use lots of antenna wire. The more the wire, the better the signal. CONDITION: TESTED AND FOUND TO BE WORKING WELL. 90% REBUILD ON THE CAPACITORS OUR GUY ONLY LEFT TWO THAT TESTED “EXCELLENT” AND ARE DARN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO GET AT. MODERATE WEAR ON THE SURFACE. ONE SMALL FLAW IS THE GRILL CLOTH HAS A STAIN ON THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER WHICH CAN BE SEEN IN SOME OF THE GALLERY PHOTOS. ALL PICTURES IN THE GALLERY SHOTS TAKEN DIRECTLY OF THE OBJECT FOR SALE. HERE IS A REAL RADIO POWERHOUSE. GREAT SOUND / LOTS OF VOLUME / AND AN ABILITY TO PULL IN STATIONS FROM FAR AWAY. TONIGHT AS I WAS LISTENING HERE IN PITTSBURGH, I HEARD NEW YORK, ST. LOUIS, PHILLY AND MANY OTHER FAR AWAY STATIONS. THE DIAL WAS LOADED WITH SIGNALS. APPROX SIZE: 21 & 1/2 x 16 x 15. THE WOOD FINISH IS GOOD BUT THERE ARE A FEW FLAWS. THE LAST TWO GALLERY PHOTOS SHOW A LITTLE VENEER CHIP THAT FELL OFF AND WAS REGLUED. ALSO THERE IS A LITTLE ROUGHNESS ALONG THE UPPER RIGHT TOP EDGE — AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE GALLERY PHOTOS. THE RIGHT SIDE SHOWS SOME LITE FINISH FLAWS. AND THE TOP OF THE RADIO ALSO SHOWS SOME FINISH WEAR. HOWEVER, OVERALL THE CONDITION OF THE RADIO IS STILL VERY ATTRACTIVE AND SHOWS MODERATE WEAR FOR A RADIO OF ITS AGE. No reserve, Great Find! We specialize in 16 & 35mm equipment & film. Vintage Zenith Wood Tube Radio Tombstone 5S127 Untested Great For Restoration. For your consideration is this Zenith Wood Tube Radio. The radio cosmetically is in good to fair condition with some wear (please see pictures). The radio does have a small hairline crack to the top left hand corner (please see picture). The Knobs appear to be original. The tone control knob is loose. The tuning control knob does not function properly (tuning dial does not move). Next to the band indicator the letters “A, B & C” are written. They do not appear to be engraved. The cloth is in fair condition. I observed two open slots in the tube radio. It appears that a couple capacitors are missing. The power cord appears to be in good condition with no tears. The model number for this radio is 5S127. I did not test the unit to ensure that I did not damage the radio. I will pack the radio carefully and properly to make sure it reaches its destination safely. This is a great radio for restoration so do not miss out on this one. If you have any questions just let me know and I’ll answer as soon as possible. The set powers on and works great I was able to tune in several stations here in central Indiana. Be sure to look at the last picture to check out the back-lit radio dial! I have not tested the tubes. This is a BEAUTIFUL set, as you can see from the many pictures. Please be sure to preview all of the pictures so that you can determine the condition for yourself. All of the dials, push-buttons and knobs appear to be in excellent working condition. The interior/chassis looks super clean. The cabinet is nice and solid and the original finish looks awesome! There are a few minor blemishes like you might expect on a piece from this era. I believe that most all of this radio is original.
