This old transceiver looks pretty good! The cabinet has a few scratches on it as well as an engraving on the top (see photos), but the faceplate looks terrific with the original plastic film still intact. It appears to be all original inside and out. We’ve briefly powered it up for about ten seconds. The tube filaments glow and the meter lamps illuminate. No further testing has been done. The first thing I’d do is change those capacitors, because when they’re this old they could go out at any time. This equipment is part of a very large silent-key estate we recently acquired, all of which has been in a storage unit for approximately 15 years. We have not done any testing beyond what is specifically mentioned above. There are a few reasons for this, but it essentially comes down to the fact that they almost always need some level of service and it’s simply not cost effective to pay our technician to spend time going through them. It may or may not need components replaced (caps, resistors, tubes, etc), controls cleaned/lubricated, alignment, and so on. Unless you are qualified and capable of working on this unit yourself, or are willing to pay a qualified individual to do the work for you, we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you. This item will be packaged using our InstaPak foam-in-bag system, ensuring the utmost protection! Bags filled with a chemical mixture expand around your item and harden to form a protective, yet forgiving, foam barrier. IMPORTANT: You will only receive what is photographed. If it is not shown in the photos, it is not included in the sale. This includes items such as original packaging, accessories, manuals, and so on. Speaking of manuals, it is strongly recommended that you thoroughly read it before attempting to operate the equipment. If a manual is not included in this sale, you should download one. It has been tested and actually sounds pretty good which surprised me because I didn’t expect much. Now I see why audiophiles swear by vintage tube amplifiers. This model also has a phono input so you can attach a turntable if you like. Cosmetically, this unit is very clean. There are some marks on the wood, but noting too unusual for a item that is over 50 years old. The date code stamped on the bottom is 122061, just in time for someones happy Christmas in 1961. Take a look at the pictures of the actual item to get a better idea of condition. Vintage Philco Model 20 Cathedral Radio 1930′s. The radio needs an antenna. The channel comes in low until you put your finger on the metal clip for the antenna. No humming or popping when going threw the dial. This may have been restored recently. Though I didn’t go in and check caps or have done any restoration. My need to be check out and serviced by a professional or. That knows more about this model of radio. Looks Great giving its age. Please see pictures 4 & 7. They will be marked to indicate where they go. The one vacuum tube (one of the 71a’s) has a piece of glass rattling around inside the tube. It is a piece of insulator that chipped off inside and does not affect the tubes function. Also, It’s missing the back panel. Not sure if these radios came with one. The plug appears to be original. Normally there would be a paper cover for the contacts but is missing now. Please mouse over the pictures and determine condition. If you have any questions please ask. All sales are final. Give me the opportunity to rectify the situation. The item “Vintage Philco Model 20 Cathedral Radio 1930′s Working Looks Great” is in sale since Thursday, January 9, 2020. This amp looks really good. The cabinet has been repainted and is a bit off the original “Heathkit green” but still looks terrific. The front panel is in great shape. Inside, everything looks original and unmodified. All controls feel good except for the band switch, which is a little tight but still works. My guess is that this can be remedied with electrical contact cleaner. We’ve briefly powered the amp to ensure it turns on and the tube filaments lit up, which they do. We’ve done no further testing in the amp. Please note that no tubes are included. The tubes shown in the photos are only there to show filaments lighting up. They have since been removed for use in another project. This equipment is part of a very large silent-ley estate we recently acquired, all of which has been in a storage unit for approximately 15 years. We have not done any testing beyond what is specifically mentioned above. This transceiver looks good. The faceplate is certainly original and in fine condition. I think that the cabinet has been repainted, but I’m not sure. It’s a pretty gray/silver hammer-tone paint and looks great. Inside, it’s very clean. I’m not familiar enough with these to know if it’s been modified or not, so take a look at the photos and judge for yourself. We are including a 6-meter (50.59MHz) crystal. This equipment came from the estate of a ham operator and has been tucked away in a storage unit for approximately 15 years. We’ve made the decision to sell this older equipment 100% as-is and untested. There are a few reasons for this, but it essentially comes down to the fact that they almost always need some level of service and it’s simply not cost effective to pay our technician to spend time going through them. 1930s Vintage EMERSON 414 “WHEAT” Repwood Tube Radio. This is an absolutely beautiful example of a rare 1933 Art Deco Emerson 414 Wheat Repwood tube radio in great vintage condition. The radios extremely decorative case has plant and wheat berry designs on the front, sides, and top that are in remarkably crisp and vibrant condition. Same great detail is seen in the matching wheat knobs. This highly decorative Art Deco tube radio was found at an estate sale of an audiophile who collected many musical instruments and antiques. The set retains its original case, grill cloth, knobs, chassis, and back with metal tag. The chassis appears to have been gone over and no longer has the curtain burner power cord. Radio should be gone over by a qualified technician if intended for use. Measures approximately: 7 ¼ ” wide by 7 ½ ” high by 5 deep. Vintage RCA Radiola II AR-800 Battery Operated Radio that is in excellent condition for its age. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. Unfortunately, the leather strap is broken, but with some work, I think it can be repaired. The 2 Radiotron UV-199 short pin tubes are present (untested) and interior is very clean. Given the simplicity of these early battery operated radios, it should not take much to get it up and running. All of the knobs/dials are in good shape with no chips and all turn smoothly and properly. I acquired a set of period headphones that I have added to the radio. Head phones are Trimm Dependable and the cloth cord is in excellent condition. I do not know if the headphones work. Great early radio to add to your collection. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered. The item “Hard to Find Vintage RCA Radiola II AR-800 Battery Operated Radio Looks Great” is in sale since Saturday, February 1, 2020.
