Super cool radio – I believe the color is “Champagne white” but it looks like a greige to me, neutral tone. Still has a shine to it, dials are in excellent condition and functioning properly, tube radio takes a few seconds to warm up as is custom, tuner feels fine. Cord is fine and functional. Case of the radio is in very good condition; minimal blemishes.

The whole unit was completely refurbished with the capacitors and resistors replaced, as well as a new power switch and a period appropriate cloth covered power cord. New wiring was also installed to the speaker as well as to various tubes. The unit will be able to play for years to come. For a demonstration of the unit playing, see the link below. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax and presents quite well. There are a few minor veneer chips that do not detract from the overall appearance of the radio (See photos). The original grill cloth is in excellent condition. This is one of a number of vintage tube. They all were from the estate of a ham enthusiast who collected and. Rebuilt communication receivers over the years along with many other tube type radios and test equipment. Here’s 1925 MIRACO (Midwest Radio Company). Ultra 5 battery operated radio. This set was made in at least three different versions and this is the scarce earliest version. It features the gold MIRACO decal on the front panel. These fragile decals are almost always partly or mostly missing but this one is near perfect. It also has the early “silver” rheostat dials also in great shape. The mass market radio boom of the 1920′s. I downloaded a late 1924 magazine advertisement for this set (see photo) for you to look at. This set is in its original. Wood cabinet with its very good original finish. Condition is very good, the wood cabinet is original with a good 100 year old finish. The lettering is original and still legible. The dials, knobs, and controls are all in good condition as far as I can see. The chassis is in good condition. As you can see. I know very little about this set and no testing was done. The set requires five of the 1920s. Please look at all the photos as they are an integral part of the description. This is a long rectangular set. 28 x 8 x 10 approx. Set weighing about 25 pounds securely packed and boxed. Again, please look closely at all photos. As they are an integral part of description.

Rare Vintage Brewster Model B-10 Pre-War FM Radio Tuner 1940s Looks Great

Fresh from a local estate that had hundreds of radios, this is a rare, circa 1940 Brewster Model B-10, pre-WWII FM Tuner that is a great candidate for restoration. All of the tubes are new old stock – just installed and tested good. Unit features 8 tubes and it used the Armstrong Frequency Band with a range of 42-50, which was later changed to 88-108 in 1945. Cosmetically, the unit is in excellent condition, with the original finish simply cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax. The original cloth power cord is in good condition, with some fraying. Both knobs turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator functions properly as well.
