510 radio, that we disassembled and refurbished back to its original kit form. The parts were carefully removed, and all terminals, lugs and components are free of excess solder. The plastic case has been cleaned. In addition to the original components that were salvageable, the kit comes with a COMPLETE set of NOS (New Old Stock) resistors, a COMPLETE new capacitor set, set of NOS tube sockets, and new hookup wire! You are building the kit with a new set of parts, just like the original! The resistors are ALL vintage carbon composition types, the RF front-end ceramic capacitors may be replaced with superior polystyrene types. The tubular capacitors are brand new film caps. Finally, we are including two high voltage electrolytic capacitors, to replace the original dual power supply filter capacitor, if it becomes necessary. Small variations in parts may occur, depending on our stock. This is as close as you can get to an original unbuilt kit! The plastic case is in average to above average condition for its age. It has been immersion cleaned. It has small nicks, scratches, and’melt marks’ common on these cases, but is still very presentable. Note these minor flaws may not be not picked up by the camera, or can be obscured by the camera flash. Their are no major chips in the case. It has one major flaw, one of the plastic extensions on the interior, that holds the back cover is broken off. The camera flash can also cause the case and knobs to look white, when they are a more ivory color. Kit includes metal chassis and back cover not shown in photos. In addition to the original components that were salvageable, the kit comes with a COMPLETE set of NOS (New Old Stock) resistors, a COMPLETE new capacitor set, set of new tube sockets, and new hookup wire! You are building the kit with a new set of parts, just like the original! The resistors are ALL vintage carbon composition types, tested to be in spec. The ceramic capacitors are vintage parts with long leads. The RF front-end ceramic capacitors have been replaced with superior polystyrene types. The tubular capacitors are brand new film caps. Vintage NOS (New Old Stock), Graymark 505, 3-tube radio transmitter kit! This is one of the rarest Graymark kits. Kit is still in its original box. All the parts bags are still stapled shut! The box has some wear and staining, and a tear on the top flap. The bottom has a circular green stain about an inch in diameter. We have inventoried the kit, and it is complete. Their was one minor discrepancy in the parts. A resistor in the parts list has a 2.7 Mohm resistor, but in the parts bag is a 220 Kohm resistor. We are including an extra 2.7 Mohm resistor. Kit includes vacuum tubes, but this version does not come with a microphone. We will include a small crystal microphone. The manual is a photocopy of a used manual. It has some markings and writing in it. Please note we do not supply copies of manuals or schematics. This kit has one unusual feature. The printed circuit board has no component holes. The parts were carefully removed, and all terminals were cleaned with solder wick. Components were cleaned and re-tested, see photos. This kit is complete with its original box and paperwork. This is the version with the colorful, psychedelic 1960′s style paper wrapping, that wrapped around the outer box. These are seldom seem, as they probably got thrown away. The colors are still strong and vivid. The kit comes with a COMPLETE set of NOS (New Old Stock) resistors, COMPLETE new capacitor set, and new hookup wire! You are building the kit with a new set of parts, just like the original! This is as close as you can get to an original unbuilt kit! Comes with original paperwork and manual. Manual has detailed construction steps, and experiments to perform as you go along, if you chose to do so. The paperwork has some tears from age. Replacement coil forms can be found, or you can easily make your own, by mounting a plastic or wooden tube on top of a tube socket. The manual has detailed instructions and photos for winding these coils. The kit has the following minor issues. The metal base has some spots of missing paint, these could be easily be touched up. The bottom base plate is in excellent condition. The cardboard front is in overall excellent condition, with a couple very small areas of slight wear, Once again, it appears this radio saw little use. The paperwork has normal age wear you would expect. The manual has tears on the first few pages. The box is in fair condition. One flap and the top have separated as shown in the photos. The color wrapper was inside the box and is curled up, but can be unfolded as shown in the photos. When assembled, this will make a fine presentation model. NOTE: This kit uses a non-isolated AC line derived power supply. We strongly suggest the use of a line isolation transformer, while operating this radio. Not for sale to minors. This is as close as you can get to an original unbuilt kit! The box is not original. It is a generic box, and we have pasted a color reproduction on one side. It makes a nice display piece. The color reproduction duplicates flaws in the original, but it is still a nice looking retro graphic! The plastic case is in very good condition for its age. It has several scratches, but is in better condition than you would expect, from a previously built kit this age. A small piece is missing on one of the bottom rails, but is barely noticeable. One of the metal inserts in the back of the case, to hold that back cover on is missing, but this is a minor issue. The metal chassis is shiny and clean. Comes with JPEG scans of the assembly manual on a CD-R. The original line cord was damaged. It is included, and we have included a suitable replacement also.
