GORGEOUS VINTAGE ORIGINAL ZENITH K731 TUBE WOOD AM FM AFC RADIO WORKS GREAT

The model number on this wonderful radio is K731 & it was produced in the 1963 era. The maple wood cabinet is all original & in pristine condition with no cracks or scratches but this is one (1) extremely small ding on the top front edge which in no way shape or form detracts from the beauty of this radio. The cabinet on this radio has been cleaned & polished which still retains it’s original sheen or shine & the finish looks fantastic. This Zenith K731 came in two different styles “danish style” with legs & this model here “early american style” & they either were made with walnut or maple veneer. This radio has been well taken care of & for a 63yr old radio it looks spectacular. I have taken many pictures so you may get a good view at this gorgeous looking & working radio. There is no dial light as this radio did not come equipped with one. The 3 control knobs are original & in fantastic condition. The speaker grill cloth is original & in excellent condition. The original back panel is present & in excellent condition. The electric cord is in fantastic condition. The chassis is in great condition & it is a 7 tube unit with 3 controls & 1 switch. This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology “unlike modern day solid state radios” can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV’S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires/lines above your home, etc… So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. A lot of tube radios are directional meaning you “may” have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best reception. Tube radios usually take 30 to 45 seconds after they have been turned/powered ON before they start playing as the tubes have to warm up. The size of this fabulous & wonderful gem is 15-1/2″ long 8-1/4″ wide & 10 high. I package very well for a safe arrival. If you have any questions, please ask & I will promptly answer & as best as I can. Please ask questions before the end of the sale & not after. Thanks for looking I greatly appreciate it. The wood cabinet on this radio/phono is all original & in spectacular condition. The cabinet is solid & tight that has been cleaned & polished which still retains it’s original sheen or shine. The finish looks fantastic & the grain in the wood is spectacular looking & very pleasing to the eyes to say the least. There are no scratches in the cabinet note worthy of talking about but there is a small chip in the veneer on the lower bottom right side back edge of the cabinet. This small chip in the veneer does not in any way shape of form detract from the overall beauty of this radio. I have taken many pictures so you may get a good view of this gorgeous looking & working radio/phonograph. I believe the speaker grill cloth is original & in great looking condition. The 4 brown bakelite/plastic control knobs are in great looking & working condition. The original loop antenna system on the inside is in great working condition. The chassis of the radio is in great condition & it is a 5 tube unit with 4 controls. The controls are stated from left to right, #1-ON/OFF/VOLUME #2/3 outer control BAND/PHONO inner control TONE #4-TUNING & all 4 controls work great. The chassis has had all new electrolytic capacitor/filters installed & all wax/paper capacitors have been replaced & a new electric cord has been installed. You may or may not need to stretch this long antenna wire out but it will probably assist in better SW reception. When using the SW/Overseas band will differ depending on the time of day, evening or late night hours when using this band. Shortwave usually receives best in the evening or late night hours. This radio has been restored to great working condition. As I stated Shortwave usually receives best in the evening or late night hours. The phonograph record player plays 78rpm records only. The needle on the record player had been replaced several years ago. When using the record player you must turn the BAND selector to the P position & then place a 78 rpm record on the platter & then turn the power switch “located at the end of the record/tone arm” to the ON position. Then move the record/tone arm over onto the record & she will start playing like a fiddle. This is a very nice looking & working Crosley radio record player & you will be proud to own it in your collection or as a stand alone radio/phono as it’s power & beauty will surely be the talk of the room by all whom enter. For your consideration is this gorgeous 1935 Philco Model 60 Cathedral. The radio doesn’t have an rf front end nor an internal antenna, so a long wire outside antenna is a must to achieve the reception the radio was designed for. Back in 1935 most homes had an antenna running from the peak of the house to a tree or another building. Audio is loud with just a bit of hum. The radio had been gone over a few times in it’s past and notable in 1984 with the date marked on the back of the chassis. But after comparison, this cabinet was is much better condition so this set received some of the tubes and shields from the other set. That set’s speaker, the one on this radio now, had the cone seam open and a few small holes around the speaker rim. Usually caused by not paying attention when placing the speaker back on it’s pins. So the repair looks worse than it is. The speaker works fine. The radio had it’s original filter caps removed, possibly in the 1950′s, and the holes were covered with a small metal plate, then in 1984 again the old filter caps were replaced with paper tubular types and then recently those were replaced with modern electrolytics which are in now. The power cord had been cut so a new polarized cord has been installed. All the tubes test “good”. All contacts were chemically cleaned and all moving parts were lubricated. And then, the radio was aligned according to Philco’s instructions on both bands. This gorgeously styled cabinet was in decent condition, but was touched up with Mohawk’s toning lacquers and top coated with a few coats of clear. The cabinet shows normal wear but retains it’s original look. The grill cloth is a n. There is a very small dark spot on the middle of the grill cloth, looks like a stain, but it’s in the stitching. The knobs were missing on both this and the parts radios, but after some searching the correct ones were found and are on. New chassis rubber mounts were installed so that the chassis is at the proper height. Philco’s Model 60 was released in 1934 and then again in 1935 but with a couple of different cabinet design. This in my opinion is the nicest of all the Model 60 designs. Back in the 1930′s the 1.5 to 4.0 Mhz band covered the old police band and foreign broadcasts, but today there isn’t much to listen to on this frequency band. If you are looking for a beautiful Cathedral for your collection or just to display then don’t pass this one by. It comes from the height of the radio era…. Some 80 years ago. And, you may not see one this nice again. Thank you for looking. The dimensions of this gorgeous Philco Cathedral is approximately: 13″ wide, 16″ tall and 9 deep. Included are 2 x mullard made in great britain 12ax7 vacuum tubes (one is fisher radio corp branded) and 1 x sylvania 12au7. Also included is the original wood cabinet. As you can see from the photos, one of the little rocker switch knobs is missing, but all others are present. Unit looks to be completely original inside and has been in storage for 20+ years. I have cleaned the tube sockets, pots, switches, and jacks with caig deoxit and all seem to be functioning smoothly. I do not currently have a working variac, so i have made no attempt to power this preamplifier up. It may work or it may not, but you will have to be the one to warm it up slowly and turn the power on. Probably will require a small amount of restoration to make stable at the very least. Rest assured that this fragile item will be packed appropriately. Thank you and good luck! The item “Vintage Fisher Radio Corp Model 50-C Tube Preamplifier 50C Mono Preamp GORGEOUS” is in sale since Tuesday, May 12, 2015. For your consideration is this wonderful 1939 motorola push-button table radio, model 61c. This nice radio is a six tube superhet receiving the standard broadcast band, 550 to 1700 khz, and a shortwave band 5.5 to 18.0 mhz. The radio works great on both bands. Many short wave stations were heard with just a small length of wire stretched out. The sound is pleasant to the ear without any hum or distortion. The first owners must have been excited to bring this gorgeous radio home and then gather around it to listen the soap operas, mystery dramas, music concerts and then, the all important war news. Please note that the finish on this cabinet is a process called photofinish. The factory made a photographic film of an exotic wood grain and then wrapped the top and all-around the surfaces of the radio. The top was damaged beyond repair and was stripped of the film and then sprayed a dark walnut color. The film on the rest of the radio, all the sides and front, has no damage what so ever. It is just beautiful, a real piece of art. The film was carefully cleaned and then given many coats of clear lacquer to preserve it’s beauty for many years to come. Many photos were taken so that you can get a good look at the quality of the colorful photo grain. And, it’s safe to say, you’d be hard pressed to find a photo finish this nice looking. Once the cabinet was finished, the chassis was tackled. The old tubular filter capacitor remains but it’s components were replaced with new electrolytics soldered to an installed terminal strip. Then, the old wax caps were replaced with new “orange drop” capacitors. Any resistor measured out of tolerance was also replaced. All tubes were checked and any weak were replaced with tubes testing “good”. A new dial cord was installed with a new rubber friction tuning drive drum, when tuning you should slightly press the tuning knob either up or down while turning. The dial needle assembly was missing and after some research, a new one was built from brass pieces. In my humble opinion it looks better than the original and works just fine. Two new #44 dial lamps were also installed. All contacts were chemically cleaned and all working parts were lubricated. A new polarized power was installed. The speaker cone has no tears or cuts and the voice coils moves easily. And, finally the radio was aligned on both bands. The push-buttons work, however i tend to leave them alone. The push-buttons are the mechanical type and. When a preset button is depressed the station. Needle moves by applying the pressure to a button which turns the variable capacitor to a predetermined location. The gold color foil slide rule dial is perfect, no cuts, scratches or missing digits. The plastic escutcheon was heated carefully to flatten the piece. You’ll notice there are no breaks or cracks. The dial glass was broken and missing pieces so a new plastic dial cover was installed the same thickness of the original glass. The speaker grill cloth is the original and was carefully cleaned and stretched out to dry. There are no holes or cuts in the grill cloth, it’s perfect. The original knobs were missing so three replacements are correct, the tuning knob is a close match. And 4 tuning. This lovely radio is a great player. You’ll find most short wave activity above 8 mhz. The radio doesn’t have an internal antenna, so a long external antenna, 100 foot or longer, would really enhance your listening pleasure. I’m really pleased with the way this nice radio finished up. The photo-finish is exceptionally nice and makes this motorola radio stand out. I’ve seen this same model in the past and the photo finish was so bad that who ever worked on it just painted the entire cabinet brown. If you are looking for a nice working radio and one that pulls in short wave stations then don’t pass this one by. You won’t be disappointed. Notice how beautiful the dial lights up in dim light.. The light shines brightly off the gold foil dial and the new brass pointer adds that air of class. This awesome radio’s dimensions are approximately: 16 1/2″ wide, 9″ tall and 9 deep.
