This radio has six tubes instead of the usual 5 that allows it to receive stations especially well with good clear warm tube sound and volume with no hum using just the loop antenna inside the case with no need for an external antenna. It has been tested and should continue to play loud and clear for many, many more years. The case has been repainted the original ivory color with a red dial that lights up when the radio is on. The case has no cracks, chips or odors. I have thoroughly washed the case and it looks remarkable for a 72 year old. The knobs match and are original. The original hardboard back is still in great condition and a reproduced bottom label shows the location of the tubes and other information. The inside chassis has been thoroughly cleaned; the volume control de-oxidized for smooth volume changes and all moving controls lubricated. I have replaced all old electrolytic and film capacitors in the chassis with new modern capacitors and have checked all resistors. Brittle or bare wiring has been replaced or re-insulated. The photos underneath the chassis show the quality and neatness of my electrical work. All 6 easily found tubes have been tested and questionable tubes have been replaced. The power cord has been replaced with a new 18 gauge white cord with a molded, polarized plug. The speaker is in great condition. The radio has been aligned and successfully bench tested for at least 12 hours over several days. The radio size is approximately 8 high by 13 wide by 6½ deep and weighs over 7 pounds.
