In model year 1960/61 Nordmende brought the Fidelio Stereo E300 with Chassis 1/632 in the market. With a price of 375.00 DM it was an expensive radio. In Germany in 1960, the average monthly income was DM 500.00. The surface of the radio has grown and natural patina, with some signs of use. The housing does recognize its age. It is almost sixty years old. The Fidelio is ideal for the living rrom. Through the careful technical and optical restoration, it gives an authentic impression of radio technology that time. For the technically interested readers some details. Tubes 9: ECC85, ECH81, EF85, EM84, EABC80, 2x ECC83, 2x EL84. Power: AC 110, 125, 150, 220, 240 Volt. Loudspeaker: 2 Isophon, size Ø 6.7 inch. Dimensions: 24.4 x 13.8 x 11.2 inch, (620 x 350 x 285 mm). Net weight: 32 lb 9.6 oz (14.8kg). While this radio is attractive and certainly is an eye-catcher, it’s real strength is the chassis. Clean chassis, and in amazing performer. I restored the chassis as well as the housing very carefully. The nine tube chassis has been cleaned and lubed carefully before restoring. Tar and electrolytic capacitors and a lot of other parts have been replaced. All have been carefully restored. Only if the radio meets my quality standards, and these are very high, then I offer it. Although great attention it is possible that the radio fails. Attached are the service manuals and schematics. The FM provides the amazing thrilling sound these radio are known for. Nevertheless, for serious listening, an external antenna will provide amazing radioreception. Please note this is a Europaen model. FM works up to 100MHz (almost up to 102MHz). A few words about me. The company provides practical knowledge and the school teaches the theoretical fundamentals. After three and a half years there is a final exam in theory and practice.
