Vintage 1952 Zenith S-18535′Owl Eyes’ Art Deco Bakelite Tube Radio. With Telcron Alarm Clock Working. Beautiful functioning Zenith radio. Excellent condition no gouges cracks or scrapes only a couple very tiny nicks shown in photo. Sound quality is great picks up multiple stations very well. Cabinet is J514 Walnut Bakelite. Speaker grill cloth loose behind slotted grill but does not affect quality or beauty of this radio. Plug with alarm (could not find a plug to fit it). Instructions on bottom for clock/alarm functions. Measures 13″ wide 5 3/4″ deep 5 1/2 tall. Offering for sale a very unique Vintage Eames Era Jeweled Eyed Owl Clock Radio. Operates on a 9V battery. The volume works and the tuning dial does as well. I tested the radio with a battery and was amazed that it still works for such an old radio, however stations came in with lots of static. It operates on a 9V radio battery which is NOT included. It could use a good cleaning, especially to get the jeweled eye to sparkle! Parts of the body are formed out of metal, other parts are plastic. The top of the heads gold finish is dull and has a large dust spot, not sure if that will clean up or not, it could be repainted if you want to do the work.
