The case is Bakelite and was tested. It is a patriotic model based on the colors used, red, white & blue. When plugged in the radio hums but does not play. It has a handle that can be pulled up for carrying and pushed back down. There is a crack on the bottom of the radio. Bakelite can be repaired, one of the sites is the old radio fixer upper guy. This radio is rare but because it is a parts, repair, restore it will have a low starting price. The radio measures 11″ long, 8″ high and 6 1/4 deep (approximately). I took pictures from various angles, please look at all the photos so that you know what you are getting. It looks beautiful from across the room as a decorative radio, however up close the finish shows spots and unevenness which can be seen in the photos when you zoom in. See that it has been patched in the corner near the back. Be sure to look at that photo from the top showing the back, and the E openings, one of them was repaired, and looks different from the rest of the wood. Three of the louvers are not original. The back cover is something I made in my garage. The power cord is new, and so is the dial string, the rectifier tube has been changed, I think it is new old stock, and one other tube was changed. The filters are new, the wax capacitors have been changed. I picked up a few local radio stations in my area. You would need to extend the supplied antenna wire, or install your own antenna connection. From 1938 to 1940. Walnut Ingraham cabinet, that measures approximately 10.5 ×6.25 ×4.50 inches. Once the new power cord was installed, we brought it up slowly on a variac and it played nicely! We were able to tune in several stations here in central Indiana. Cabinet looks REALLY nice featuring a beautiful butterscotch marbled color. The cabinet is nice and solid. I don’t see any cracks or chips but there may be a small imperfection in the upper left side of the cabinet. When I rub my hand over that area, it is smooth and I don’t really feel a crack so it may be an imperfection in the plastic… I believe that the radio is mostly all original I have been told that the knobs are not original and the grille may be from a newer model. The radio had been in storage for a number of years so I’m sure that it could use a good/thorough cleaning on the inside. It measures approximately 11″ wide by 5 1/2″ deep (not including the knobs) by 7 1/8 tall. If you would like to discuss further, please feel free to call me at 317.340.6170. This is a nice vintage Emerson Model EP-375 butterscotch catalin case, table top tube radio. The front has a great Art Deco design with the “5 + 1″ vertical bars. The case has no cracks or breaks, just a few minor scratches and typical signs of use. I have not cleaned, polished or buffed the case. It is as found. There is no power cord, so I cannot speak to the working condition at all. They determine all additional costs. All items that I sell are “AS-IS” only, unless otherwise stated. Emerson Radio & Phonograph Corp, out of New York, manufactured this radio in 1940. Front clear plastic dial cover is original. The back cardboard is original (though chipped). Some super minor surface scratches. No chips or cracks in the Catalin plastic. There are two scratches on the top. It’s 7 x 5 1/4 x 4 inches. It works: the volume is adjustable and you can tune in stations. The plug and cord has been changed.
