THIS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ZENITH RADIO, MODEL 6D312, MADE IN 1938 IS IN VERY NICE WORKING CONDITION. IT’S ELECTRONICS HAVE BEEN RESTORED AND IT PLAYS VERY WELL WITH GOOD SOUND QUALITY. THE POWER CORD HAS BEEN REPLACED AND IT IS NOW SAFE TO USE EVERY DAY. THE BAKELITE CABINET IS NICE AND SHINY WITH NO CRACKS OR DAMAGE. THERE IS A SMALL FLAW ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CABINET NEXT TO ONE OF THE CHASSIS MOUNTING SCREW HOLES. IT IS A SURFACE CHIP THAT HAS BEEN REPAIRED. THE CHIP IS ONLY ON THE SURFACE OF THE BAKELITE, THERE IS NO REPAIR OR DAMAGE ON THE INSIDE OF THE CABINET. THIS FLAW IS VERY MINOR AND NOT REALLY WORTH MENTIONING, BUT I WANTED YOU TO KNOW ABOUT IT FOR CONDITION ACCURACY. ONE OF THE KNOBS HAS A CHIP ON IT’S EDGE, IT IS NOT BAD AT ALL, BUT IT IS NOTICEABLE. THE ORIGINAL DIAL LENS IS CLEAR AND THE GOLD COLORED DIAL LIGHTS UP BEAUTIFULLY AT NIGHT. IT DOES NOT SHOW IN THE PICTURES BUT THE FOUR RUBBER FEET ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CABINET HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH NEW ONES. I PUT THEM ON AFTER THE PICTURES WERE TAKEN. THIS VERY DESIRABLE ZENITH IS JUST A PERFECT REFLECTION OF THE ART DECO STYLE THAT HAS BECOME SO POPULAR. THIS MODEL IS ALWAYS IN DEMAND BY COLLECTORS, AND NICE EXAMPLES ARE GETTING HARD TO FIND, SO DON, T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN THIS GREAT PIECE OF RADIO DESIGN HISTORY. THE RADIO MEASURES 12 LONG, 7.5 HIGH, 6.5 DEEP. THE RADIO DOES HAVE SOME STATIC WHEN PLAYING. IT IS NOT CONSTANT OR REALLY BAD, JUST A LITTLE ANNOYING. THE STATIC IS MOST PROBLEMATIC WHEN THE RADIO IS FIRST TURNED ON. THE STATIC TENDS TO GO AWAY AFTER A LITTLE WHILE OF PLAYING. THE SOUND QUALITY IS STILL VERY NICE AND CLEAR. IT MAY JUST BE A TUBE GOING BAD. I HAVE USED THIS RADIO OFTEN WITH NO PROBLEMS. IT WAS PUT IN STORAGE FOR SEVERAL YEARS, AND I JUST RECENTLY STARTED USING IT AGAIN. THIS IS WHEN THE STATIC STARTED. AGAIN THE STATIC IS NOT CONSTANT OR REALLY BAD JUST A LITTLE ANNOYING. Vintage D & A Electronics “Phantom” Ham Radio Tube Amplifier. The fan started running and all eleven of it’s tubes did light up. It had a quite a bit of dust on the topside.
