This is for an awesome Philco twin/dual speaker mid century modern tube radio circa 19958 or 59. The actual color on this according to philco literature is called salmon but I’ve seen it referred to as orange and also pink. Whatever you call its the people’s choice as far as color goes with only turquoise a distant 2nd. I also put 2 model #s in the description because both were seen several times in my research and actually several others also. Most of any issues are covered in condition description but I will say I just noticed that I somehow managed to miss cleaning the front grill. Its packed now so nothing I can do about it. Cosmetically Its really gorgeous especially for a 50+ year old radio. I wish all the radio’s I get were this nice. It measures approximately 12 1/2 wide x 8″high x 3 1/2″deep and weighs a little under 4 lbs. I have other vintage electronic listed in separate auctions and will be listing lots more in the coming weeks. That’s a proven track record of integrity and honesty. No unmentioned missing parts or saying its in excellent condition and then you look and see scratches and missing paint. Just a straight honest description of whats there , GOOD & BAD. But be nice I make a mistake once in awhile. I sell “ALL” my vintage electronics , “as is for parts or repair” Please read the reasons below. Some of the electronic part/s may continue for another 50 years without need of replacement and some electronic part/s may fail a few days after you start using the item. Thats a proven track record of integrity and honesty. 14+ years of packing it right so it will get to you undamaged. I sell mostly used vintage items and they may have wear and I may not be an expert on them so please look at the pictures carefully and ask questions. Items may have come from a home where somebody smoked. Local pick-up is always accepted and even encouraged. Thanks for viewing our listing, please read all the information given! We do our best to honestly and accurately describe all items, but we are only human and it is possible that we may make oversights or errors. We ask that all our buyers give us the chance to discuss any issues. Believed to be made in the early 60′s, this beautiful tube radio measures 17.5″ x 11.5″ x 8 deep with built-in dual speakers and antenna. There is an external Speaker RCA jack on the back along with one labelled Phono Input or Tape Output. This radio is in great condition, the front panel is in excellent condition and the cabinet is structurally sound with. No pulls or tears to t. Aside from the scuff spots on the top of the cabinet the only other thing worth mentioning is the. Little piece of gold trim missing from one of the knobs. Please inspect the pictures thoroughly for more condition. As always, we have left the original condition so the lucky new owner can decide if, and how, they want to polish it up. Electronically it is very strong, with the tubes warming up in about 15 seconds, showing surprisingly good reception, pulling in most of the local channels with only the included internal antenna. During the burn-in (we like to run these for at least an hour to reduce your chance of surprises) we didn’t notice any drifting. The neither the volume or tone control has any of that scratchiness when adjusting, surprising for a radio of this age. All the other controls appear to work correctly. All said this is a great collectible ready for display, or with a little cabinet work a great candidate for restoration. What a great deal on a Mid-century classic! Courtesy of ” radiomuseum. Org”. Up for sale here is this vintage Edison R6 tube amplifier. This is a fairly rare amplifier. The Edison R6 radio console was made around 1930 very briefly and was very expensive. The Edison Radio Company stopped producing radios by the end of 1930, so this is most likely from 1929/1930. This is the amplifier section of that console. I do not have any other parts of the console for sale, sorry. The ID badge is not attached to the amplifier–it is loose. This uses 3 tubes, which are NOT included, sorry–2 Type 45 output tubes and one Type 80 rectifier. This is a one-channel mono amplifier. It will need rebuilding before it is ready to use. This will be an incredible amp once it is rebuilt. Cosmetic condition is pretty good, and the chassis looks really nice. Please see my pictures for details. If you have any questions, please ask. I have a number of other tube items, collectibles, and vintage electronics listed–feel free to take a look! Always listing top quality restored tube radios with many, many more to come! Stay tuned by adding me to your favorites list. Eye catching 1941 bakelite gem from Airline. With a large brass dial and a dual grille design scheme, this beauty is sure to turn heads. It can easily become the center piece of any bakelite collection. Featuring solid audio and great selectivity, this tube radio measures 7 3/4″ tall X 11″ wide X 6 1/2 deep. This is a fully restored and working radio that is ready to play, display and enjoy for years to come in the comfort of your home or office. The speaker has been replaced at some point in the past with a period correct one that matches the original in specs. In the interest of safety, performance and reliability ALL paper, wax and electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with modern day equivalents. Any resistors testing out of their allotted tolerance have been replaced. Every tube was tested and replaced if found to be weak or under performing. Voltages are checked against the manufacturers specs. All moving parts are lubricated for smooth operation. A brand new power cord is added to replace the unsafe and brittle original. The signal strength is then aligned to factory specs to provide peak performance. Lastly, the set is then put through its paces by bench testing it for a minimum of 48 hours (sometimes even longer) to ensure reliability and to allow for a proper’burn in’ period for new components. As a result of this entire restoration process, the set sounds very warm, clear and plays strongly with that unmistakable tube driven sound. Reception quality and dial activity may vary depending on your particular location/coverage area. Visually striking mirror-like dark chocolate bakelite cabinet with subtle hints of darker brown smokey swirling and marbling. No cracks, breaks or chips. The dual grille design sets it apart from so many other radios of that era. What you are looking at is the original hand polished bakelite with all of its natural qualities and textures retained throughout the body of the cabinet. No’quick shine’ tricks are used. No oils, lacquers or gloss coats are ever used. With each of my hand polished radio cabinets I invest significant time and attention to detail in order to bring you a set that is worth displaying in your collection or accenting your home or office decor. No shortcuts are ever taken. Quality is the end goal. Knobs & Dial Scale. Both plastic knobs are original to the set and each has been polished and detailed to a very nice high luster. Raised lettering for each (volume and tuning) is a nice and subtle compliment to the cabinet. This set comes complete with the original push buttons and all work flawlessly as intended. I have installed some newly made metro Detroit station ID’s on them for an added touch and set them randomly across the dial. The large brass metal dial scale has been polished to a visually striking luster. You won’t find one any nicer! It makes for a stunning centerpiece to the cabinet. The backboard is original to the set and has had the top two tabs re-enforced by a previous owner. All numbers are bright and easy to read with no flaking or fading and are warmly illuminated when powered on. Please view all 11 photos. Thank you for your interest in my items. Early-1948 Zenith Model 7H820-U. Complete Electronic and Aesthetic Restoration Outstanding Performance. Here is another beautiful example of a fully-serviced Zenith model. 7H820-U (we have restored four so far). This specific model is one of the more. Historically-significant radios produced by Zenith during the 1940′s. Eye-catching art-deco appeal with a very capable radio receiver and delivers rich, room-filling sound courtesy of the large full-range speaker and a newer phase-control tone adjustment system. We have restored this set to its original working condition, and it pulls in even weak stations very clearly across all three of the frequency bands since all components that were aged beyond their useful life have been replaced, and each section of the radio’s circuitry has been carefully re-tuned to attain optimal performance. The housing is vintage mahogany marbled Bakelite with little wear – it is difficult to find a specimen of this model with a housing in this good of a condition. The brass nameplate on the speaker is untarnished, all knobs are original, and the dial face and original speaker are in very good condition. There are four reasons why the 7H820-U has so much history behind it compared to the other two “look-alike” Zenith models 7H820-Z, and 7H920. To be designed with a. Large speaker with the signature tone control or tuning dial in the middle, a design that started a trend for the next decade. It was the first Zenith to use the. Smaller “miniature tubes” that would soon become the mainstay of vacuum tube electronics. The first Zenith model to use a. Solid-state component (a selenium rectifier). Modern FM broadcast bands in one set. Between 1941 and 1948, the original FM broadcast band in the USA was. 42-49 MHz (called “FM-45″). A network of hundreds of stations developed by Edwin Armstrong. But in late 1948, RCA (heavily invested in television) successfully pressured the Federal Communication Commission to re-allocate the FM-45 frequencies for use in television broadcasting (the FM-45 frequency block was used for the picture and audio signal for TV Channel 1), and all existing FM-45 radio stations were forced off the air or to move to the new. 88-108 MHz (“FM-100″) band that we’re familiar with today. 2 years later, the FCC took the 42-49 MHz spectrum back from television broadcasting and reassigned it for mobile-service communications (like police and taxis) – this is why TV’s made after 1950 start at Channel 2, and not Channel 1. During the short “limbo period”. Hile the FCC was still deciding whether to turn the FM-45 band into TV spectrum, radio manufacturers didn’t know which FM band to put in their radios, so a few simply decided to manufacture them with both FM-45 and FM-100. This Zenith 7H820-U is one of these. This is also why you don’t find vintage RCA-Victor radios with FM-45. Today, you can still hear other things on the FM-45 frequency band with this radio – your baby monitor, intercoms, walkie-talkies, and in many jurisdictions, Highway Patrol radio communications, taxis, construction, and 2-way communications for private companies. A great deal of time and detailed attention went into restoring this radio so that it provides you with years of listening and aesthetic enjoyment. Several of the key steps performed to create a quality and enduring restoration were. Housing, knobs, and dial scale completely cleaned and polished; any very obvious scratches removed. Electrolytic capacitors replaced with brand new modern capacitors. All wax-paper capacitors were replaced with new modern equivalents. Silver mica capacitors inside discriminator stage RF transformer removed, cleaned of oxides, and replaced. Selenium rectifier replaced with a modern silicon rectifier and resistor for safety. All electrical contacts and tube sockets cleaned of oxidation and treated to remove and retard oxidation. Tuning assembly, wheel, and variable capacitor gangs cleaned and adjusted, mounts replaced. Dial lamp and socket assembly replaced. Both dial cords replaced and tensions adjusted. Tubes checked and two under-performing tubes were replaced. Several resistors markedly out-of-tolerance replaced. For all 3 frequency bands, performed tracking and alignment of all RF stages and antenna circuits to provide peak sensitivity and selectivity across entire tuning range. Replaced all wires with crumbling rubber-insulation under chassis. Fuse added to AC power input for safety. Brand new polarized power cord and plug installed for safety. Rheostat and switch assemblies manually cleaned and treated to provide noise-free operation and protection against oxidation. Volume control rheostat and switch assembly replaced. Chassis cleaned and treated to remove and retard oxidation. Replaced speaker grille cloth. Reproduction labels for band switch and volume applied. Reproduction tube diagram label affixed to bottom of radio. Small fissure on lower rear-left side and tiny chip on rim of speaker dial face repaired with Bakelite-impregnated resin (barely noticeable). Radio tested for several hours over multiple weeks to ensure consistent operation. We will also include a copy of the original Photofact service manual for the Zenith 7H820, which includes all schematics, parts lists, and alignment procedures for this specific radio so you can maintain or repair the set yourself. This radio is sure to become a centerpiece for your collection, or a perfect accent to any room. Your radio will be double-boxed and carefully packed so that you safely receive it. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have – we answer every question in detail. Thank you for looking! Notes: Fed Ex ® is our preferred carrier because we’ve never had any problems with damage compared to other carriers. We pack our radios very carefully (far too much work has been invested in each radio’s restoration to have a carrier damage it in transit). In the very rare instance your radio arrives damaged or in non-working order, we will work with you to troubleshoot or correct the problem to your satisfaction. In addition to the fragile nature of vintage electronics, they operate at higher voltages – user assumes all risks. We have integrated several safety implements into your set making it much safer for everyday use than when it originally came off the factory assembly line. This offering is for a vintage german tube radio and turntable combination. Atelier 1 – 8. Model 1959 – 60. Unfortunately, the sound qualities in this videos are inadequate and maybe the videos will not be shown in all countries. For this reason I have made several videos. This Braun Radio-Phono-Combination Atelier 1 – 8 is very nice to look at. The video and the pictures shows the good condition. Today, this model can be found only rarely. The design with its clear lines was already trendsetting in the late fifties. The Atelier 1- 8 just fits into any living room. The combination looks very elegant with its white surface. This radio is pleasent and certainly is an eye-catcher. Braun his time was far ahead. The radio has the typical design of Hans Gugelot, he designed 1955 the first Music cabinet Phonosuper SK4, consisting of a wooden cabinet made of maple and is fitted with a tube radio chassis, a record player and broadband speaker. The design was already trendsetting in the late fifties. Radios from other manufacturers were still in furniture in the so-called “Gelsenkirchen Baroque”. For these reasons, Braun-Radios were mainly bought by the avantgarde, for example, by doctors, lawyers, architects or higher officials. Some models of the house Braun located in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. These combinations are very rare these days to find and mostly owned by collectors from Braun-equipment. The housing is made of wood. This combination has some special features. The stereo combination consists of the active radio part and a turntable. The loudspeakers were manufactured by Dual. The company Max Braun oHG was founded in 1921 by the engineer Max Braun in Frankfurt. 1923 constructed Max Brown his first radio and produced for the expanding radio industry tube socket and accessories. The great success encouraged him to move already two years later in a new factory building. There, the production of an amplifier for the sound of large events began. At the end of the decade, Brown took over the production of radio receivers in license by Carl Sevecke. With the beginning of 1933 the development and production of self-developed radio began.
