This is a STUNNING example of the heavy duty built Crosley model 628-B with broadcast and shortwave. Chassis has been completely rebuilt (see underside of chassis) with all new capacitors, new power cord, fresh tubes and even added a RCA plug on separate pigtail for playing your digital audio sources through the radio. The bakelite case is flawless with no chips or cracks and exhibits a nice shine overall. This radio will not disappoint with it’s great sound and selectivity. This listing is for a fairly rare Crosley Super 6 Model 637 radio. The radio has a solid wood cabinet. The off/on switch works like it should. The dial that moves the stations needle works perfectly as well. When I plugged the radio in and turned it on all I heard was a humming sound. I did see the tubes light up when it was turned on. The wood cabinet could use some cleaning and it is loose is one bottom corner and the opposite top corner. Please check out all the pictures and judge its condition for yourself. I do have the schematics for the radio should you want them. I consider all the pictures part of the description so please check them out and judge condition for yourself. Very little to no paint wear. The gold finish is in very nice shape with very little wear for being over 65 years old. The clock works well and keep good time. The radio works and tunes in stations with no buzz. Admittedly not the best tuning radio but I was able to tune in a few stations clearly with no buzz. It was proudly displayed on a shelf in my consumer electronics retail store for 10 years and then in my home for the last 20 years. Of the 50+ radios that I have collected and restored, it has always been one of my favorites. The radio measures 13.5″W x 8″H x 7.5D and weighs about 11 lbs. The cabinet was restored several years ago – refinishing and new grill cloth. The electronics were restored more recently – AC cord and power supply capacitors replaced, controls and switches cleaned and lubricated, tuning capacitor flushed and tubes checked.
