Vintage Crosley Model 124 “The Playboy” Cathedral Radio that is in good working condition and has been partially restored. Radio receives stations quite readily with an antenna attached and with minimal background noise. The sound is strong and rich. Cosmetically, the radio is in fair condition, with the finish cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax, but the veneer is cracked and buckled along the sides and top. This version of the radio is unique, as the columns are not fluted, but have an applied gold colored accent, one of which has a small chip. It should be further noted that the body of the radio has the model # 20 next to the name “The Playboy”. Overall the defects do not detract from the overall appearance of the radio if it is to be a shelf piece. All of the dials turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator functions properly as well. The grill cloth is in excellent condition, with rips or holes. The period replacement cloth power cord is in excellent condition. Great early radio to add to your collection. Do not hesitate to make an offer, all will be considered. For your consideration, a tough to find, highly collectable and very much sought after bakelite radio manufactured by Crosley. This radio is, because of its shape, commonly known as the Bullseye. The model number is 11-117U. The cabinet is in great condition with original paint and only has a few flea bites in it. No breaks, cracks or chips. This is a working radio ready to play, display and enjoy the sound is very good with no hum – it is playing as I write this. As with all my radios it is electrically sound – the tubes are strong and all of the capacitors have been replaced. The cord has been replaced with a polarized plug. It features 1950s atomic design, the bullseye grill, original back and knob. The dimensions are: 11 across, 6 high and 6 wide. This radio will give years of good service. Every radio I sell has been thoroughly serviced – tubes tested, components checked and then the unit is lubricated and cleaned inside and out. The work performed can be seen in the pictures of the chassis and/or found in the radio description. Restored Crosley Bullseye 1951 Atomic Age vintage tube radio. As with all my radios it is electrically sound – the tubes are strong and all of the capacitors have been replaced and the core is new and has a polarized plug. Some 60 Hz hum — probably could use fresh power supply filter capacitors. A little bit of cleanup, detailing, possibly a few new components, and wood finishing will turn this into a real beauty. Sound quality is good for a tabletop radio. Dial lighting is dim in darkness. May have one or more burned-out bulbs. Did not verify dial frequency reading correlation with station frequency — dial control may need to be adjusted. Has ungrounded power cord — would be a good idea to bring this up to date with a grounded power cord for safety. Vintage Crosley Model 6H2 tombstone radio that has the classic skyscraper look. Radio has been electronically restored at some point and is in working condition. Stations come in well with an antenna attached to the rear of the radio, however the knob that switches from broadcast to shortwave is a little finicky and needs to be adjusted at times to get better sound. The airplane dial moves smoothly and properly and all of the knobs turn smoothly as well. The power cord is a period appropriate replacement, with some minor fraying to the exterior and the grill cloth is in excellent condition with no rips or holes. The finish on the radio is all original and has simply been cleaned and polished with a professional wood wax.
