History of the Learadio – Learradio 561 by Lear Co. Owner William Powell Lear, known for inventing the automobile radio but who is also known for founding The Lear Jet Corp. And has over 120 other patents registered. This great looking high quality radio with its nice looking Bakelite case This model 561 chassis is the same as the 562 & the 563. It comes with a built-in wire-wound antenna for excellent reception. 10-1/2″W x 8″H x 7D. This is a 1945 Learadio model 561. Radio I believe to be original except for the cord as it has been replaced. I know absolutely nothing about radios. This radio was acquired from an estate of a collector that had many of tube radios. Radio turns on and does pull in stations. Has few very small spots where paint is missing shown in pictures commonly found on a vintage items this old, but you decide as I tried to show in pictures….

Radio is in great condition! There are no major damages, however does have minor scratches and scuffs. For the best indicator of condition, please see photos. Unit was tested and turns on! There is some static. Tuning knob is a little stiff. Adding new, well loved, gently used, vintage and collectible items regularly! Check out my store for more related items! Have a great day!
