This cute pre WWII table radio is one of the earlier Bakelites and is in outstanding condition. With deep walnut coloring, it was buffed to a shiny and super smooth finish. There are no cracks, scratches or damage to the cabinet. It sounds good too and since being restored has great reception with five tubes and a nine foot external antenna wire (provided). As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention to detail. The cabinet was completely disassembled and cleaned, then polished to a very pleasing luster that show off the Art Deco lines and angles. The dial face has crisp and clear graphics and is in excellent conditionand softly lit by the pilot light. The dial cover is new. There is a very small slit to the grill cloth on the left side that does not detract from the beauty of the radio. The original knobs were polished and are in excellent condition. The power cord and plug were replaced. Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned and serviced, with all paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced with new ones. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the the external wire antenna. At almost 82 years old, this gorgeous and petite radio is very collectible and with its smaller size, will fit in just about anywhere. Since being completely restored, it will continue to provide many more years of visual and listening pleasure if well cared for. Note: Tube radios consist of a variety of vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors and other electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and components tested. All non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuum tubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up inside the vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to be replaced. The tubes in this radio are in good working order. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off. Veneers at right angles to one another. And, with seven tubes and a six inch speaker, it sounds great too, with tone control for your listening preference and a bright green “Magic Eye” tuning indicator. Add to that the unique roll tuning dial and volume controls and the adjustable preset tuning buttons, and you have a very high end radio for the times that still has charm and distinction. A highly collectible radio, it will enhance any location in your home or office. Unlike many of this model radio, this escutcheon is not warped or cracked; it is in excellent condition! As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention to detail. The cabinet was disassembled and cleaned. It retains the original stain, which was rejuvenated and nourished. The top and bottom trim were redone with brown mahogany toners. The entire cabinet was then given eight coats of clear lacquer. Finally, it was waxed with two coats of quality beeswax/orange oil polish to nurture and further bring out the beauty of the wood. The knobs, dial face and buttons are original. The dial is crisp and clear and is nicely back lit by two pilot bulbs. The grill cloth has been replaced, as was the power cord. There is no missing veneer nor damage to the finish other than one barely. Ding to the upper right trim of the speaker grill. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using a seven foot wire antenna (supplied). Just imagine the news stories, music and other entertainment this lovely radio has broadcast over the past 80 years. Now fully restored, it now has many more years of reliable quality sound and visual delight if well cared for. Dimensions: 16×14.5×9.5 It will be very well packaged to arrive safely to you! The original cabinet finish is in great condition with a few minor bumps and bruises that attest to its long life, but the overall appearance is still very good. There is no missing veneer and the finish is in very nice original condition. It sounds good, too, with a replacement speaker. The sensitivity and selectivity are good, using a six foot external antenna (provided). There is a bass/treble control for your listening preference. The ever pleasing green magic eye is bright and shows up well against the black dial face. As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost detail. The radio was completely disassembled and cleaned. The cabinet was gone over with a very fine steel wool, then rejuvenated to quench and nourish the wood. It was then given three coats of a beeswax/orange oil polish over two weeks to further enhance the beauty of and to protect the wood. The knobs and push buttons are original and polished. The dial face shows some minor wear in one area, but the remainder is crisp and clear and nicely lit from the pilot light. The dial cover is new and crystal clear. The power cord was replaced. As with all radios of this era having tenite materials, the bezels for the dial face and push buttons are in less than good condition- see photos. Felt pads were added to the underside to protect your furniture. The speaker was replaced. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the six foot. At 80 years old, this rare and handsome restored radio now has many more years of reliable service if properly cared for. It is a must for the collector of 1930′s radios and/or magic eye radios. It will provide an attractive treat for the eyes and ears wherever it is displayed. Dimensions: 16.5x10x7.5. It sounds as good as it looks too. It also has hi/low tone control for your listening pleasure. Though it is not Bakelite but modern plastic, its deep shine creates a depth to the appearance that is very appealing. It is excellent condition from top to bottom and a real attention getter. As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost detail. The radio was completely disassembled and cleaned. Cabinet was polished to a gleaming luster. It has absolutely no cracks, dings or damage. The burgundy center was repainted to match the original color and to balance with the original knobs. The dial ring was redone with new decals to match the original as close as possible. The original handle is in excellent condition and was polished. The original back cover is in excellent condition. The power cord was replaced. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the internal loop antenna. There is also a post to attach and external antenna lead if needed for your locale. At 69 years old and now completely restored, this radio will continue to bring many more years of enjoyment if well cared for. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off. Vintage Silvertone AM/SW Magic Eye Radio #6130 (1939) COMPLETELY RESTORED

This completely restored 1939 Silvertone is quite rare and an absolute beauty! The burled wood and other veneers are a fantastic combination that the photos depict and are just as stunning in person. Everything on this radio is in excellent condition. With a new green magic tuning eye, original push buttons, and lacquered original wooden knobs, the combination is wonderful and will be the prize of someone’s collection. It sounds great too, with good reception and selectivity using an external 6 foot antenna wire and a six inch speaker. It also has a hi/low sound for your listening preference. The SW receives well, too, but will require a longer antenna for best reception. As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost detail. The cabinet retains the original stain, which was rejuvenated to nourish and enrich the wood. The bottom and top trim were redone with dark mahogany toners for a very appealing and balanced appearance. The entire cabinet was then given six coats of quality clear gloss lacquer. Finally, it was finished off with a beeswax/orange oil polish. The dial face has crisp and clear graphics that are nicely back lit. The dial cover is original and was polished. The green tuning eye is new and very bright. The wooden knobs are original and have also been refinished and lacquered. The Bakelite push buttons are original and functional. The grill cloth behind the wooden grill is original. The power cord has been replaced and the plug is an original and polished. There are no dings, scrapes or damage to the cabinet. Felt pads were added to the underside to protect your furniture. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the external antenna. This rare and delightful masterpiece is very desirable to collectors and those with a discerning eye for the beauty of this state of the art for the times radio. And, now that it is restored, this 80 year old will continue to provide many more years of enjoyment. With bold Art Deco styling, this Crosley radio really stands out. Commonly called the Darth Vader radio for its distinctive grill, it is also sometimes referred to as the “boomerang” radio. It sounds great too, with tone control to allow you to set it for your listening preference. This model is similar to other of the “Darth Vader” Crosley radios, but this one is fairly rare compared to those. It also has a bit of a classy look, with smooth curved lines and a touch of elegance. As with all of the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost detail. The cabinet was repainted with seven coats of gloss ivory to match the original color, and it looks fantastic. There are absolutely no cracks, dings or other damage to the cabinet. The bottom, as seen in the photos, was not repainted, and was matched very well by the new paint. The cabinet was then waxed as a final step. The slide rule dial face is a brand new exact replacement and of course is in excellent condition. It is back lit by two pilot lights. The knobs are original. The dial cord was replaced with a new one. The power cord was replaced. The output transformer was replaced. The radio was aligned, peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the internal antenna. This radio has great visual appeal and with six tubes, receives very well and has full, rich sound. Rare in restored condition, this radio will appeal to Star Wars fans as well as those with an eye for late art deco styling. Now that it is completely restored, this 71 year old radio with bring many more years of enjoyment. Dimensions: 14.5×9.5×8.
