1940s Fada “Cloud” radio. No cracks, chips, or hairlines. There are two or three tiny rough spots (difficult to photograph or see with the eye) that can be felt under the finger near the top of the radio above its dial (see the last photograph). This radio DOES power up. It produces static, but I could not tune in any radio stations. ONE knob is MISSING. The cosmetic condition shows some scratching and light overall wear, but no visible cracks or breaks. NOTE: This is an estate piece and will most likely need to be serviced. Vintage Clean 1940s Fada 845 Radio The Cloud Art Deco Vacuum Tube Am Alabaster

In overall good or better condition. Case is a nice swirly off white with no apparent damage. There is a small scratch on the back at the top left. Looks to have been serviced at some point by a shop in Virginia. Does power own and tune in stations. It took a few seconds to warm up and there was a slight hum on a few stations we tuned. Overall the sound was quite clear. The bulb for the dial does light, but is a bit faint. Shelf N/012122 – XO. This radio has been refurbished with some tubes and caps and does work. Knobs are not original to the radio but functional. This radio displays very well but has some imperfection as expected that are shown in the pictures. Specifically there is damage to the dial scale. Small hole and a deep scratch. The handle was shown in the up position to let you see that it has damage that has been somewhat repaired. It is not visible when sitting on a shelf. Still a very pretty radio but wanted to clarify issues that were shown in the pictures. I want everyone to be happy! Mark Bergin Toys LTD. VINTAGE MINTY FADA CLOUD 845 BAKELITE CATALIN TUBE RADIO MARBELIZED PEARL SWIRL. This radio features a beautiful pearl color with contrasting bright red original handle – face has original knobs and large dial face. The front reads “KILOCYCLES FADA METERS” and the back reads “FADA RADIO MODEL 845 UNIVERSAL SUPERHETERODYNE 117 VOLTS POWER RATING 30 WATTS” with original stickers on back. The body has NO chips or breaks with some rubs from light use and storage. This vintage radio was test on 7/25/2015 and turns on – when plugged in and switched on there are two lights behind the Bakelite at the 140 & 250 positions on the dial. 10 ½ (left to right). 5 ½ (front to back). 6 ½ (ground to top). Vintage Fada model 845 portable tube radio. Also known as The Cloud. Light turns on and radio works well. Some general wear, especially underneath item and needs to be cleaned up a bit. We would still consider radio to be in very good condition overall. The following is from the Radiomuseum website. Dimensions – 10.75 x 6.375 x 5.5 inch / 273 x 162 x 140 mm. The FADA model family 845 “Cloud” has a tuning range of 530 – 1680 kc (566 to 178 meters). Twin pilot lights for brillant illumination with large illuminated dial. Reduction drive tuning with ratio 11 to 1. M speaker with “New wonder speaker alnico V Dynamic” magnet. Built in loop antenna “Fada-Scope”. Horizontal Continental Style Plastic Dial and Edge Lighted Pointer. Power consumption is 30 watts with a line surge arrester. Before uploading pictures, please control your set and look also for most similar catalin models 700 Cloud. From 1947 and FADA 845 with wrong colors. The material of the models 845 is STYRENE plastic (Stein, Plastic Radios, page 95). The Fada models 845 were available as model 845W. In walnut, model 845A. In alabaster, model 845AR. In alabaster and red, model 845MA. In maroon and alabaster and as model 845XA. In the version onyx and alabaster. On the same folder are also models 830V. In “ivory marble”, 830W. Is walnut (in brown marble), 830A. Is Alabaster and 830M. The same documentation contains also pictures/data of models 855. Which are most equal with models 550. And TVs models PC21 “Selectramatic”.
